list a band that you find yourself returning to time and time again, or a song that has significant meaning to you.
personally i find my self returning time and time again to korns first album its pure raw vocals backed by a meleoncholy sound of guitars and heart racing rifts combined with excellent drumming. but all that asid id have to say that i find i connect with the lyrics on a personal level this band has helped me through some of the worst parts of my life, the lead singer and i share a similar background so when he sings all the anger or frustration or pain that i felt was expressed by him. it also helped me start writing too.
another few other bands that have a impact on me is V.A.S.T. Godsmack, stabbing Westward , and Crystal Method.

I never listen to the lyrics of a song, so I cant say any have ever touched me and I never will find a deeper meaning to them. So for me as long as I like the beat to a song and the singers voice doesnt make me go insane I will like it. My favorite band is a metal band from Finland called Nightwish. They are my favorite because they have been able to combine metal with many instruments normally found in a symphony. The lead singer is a woman who is certified in the operatic vocals, which is really hard to do. Unfortunatly she has left the band recently and I dont know if I will like who replaces her, but since I do not put much stress on the voice I should still like them.

Wow a lot of people seem to really be in to Nighwish... I have listened to a bit of their stuff and I agree that I really like that way they combined to very different genres.
I do listen to the lyrics of some music but I am not nearly as passionate about music as Alucard is. With me it is more about how a song makes me feel. For instance there is this song that I originally heard on Highlander the Series and every times I heard it I was overwhelmed with this sense of sorrow and loss, the kind you get when losing someone you truly love. I found out years later, once I started listening to Loreena McKennit, that she wrote the song and it was a tribute meant to bring awareness of the mass destruction of forest area in either Scotland or Ireland (I forget which). It's a funny thing how I could take it so differently than it was meant, with this one it is somewhat hard to keep track of the lyrics so I never really bothered to try.
Overall my favorite bands are mostly new age/instrumental/classical. I love Enya, Enigma, Dead Can Dance, Loreena McKennit and most of all Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

Why are you embarrassed about it? Bet you can dance! Unlike me.. no sense of rhythm whatsoever. Horrifying!
More bands and singers: Genesis Phil Collins U2 Collective Soul
One of the few concerts I have been to was Collective Soul before they were popular. Was in a VERY small club in Joplin, Mo. in the middle of July. People were passing out from the heat. Was great fun, though, especially since my brothers, sisters-in-law and I were probably the oldest people there. #old#

Now isnt listing the entire Tekken 5 soundtrack more then one song for your top 20, or is it one of those things where it is just one really long song?
