My favorite sport is bowling. It's something you don't have to be good at to enjoy. Of course, I grew up in a bowling alley so I'm kind of biased. To be really good at it, takes a lot more coordination and practice that most people think. It's just a lot of fun, and it's something that I can still do half-way well. I know people who are in their 70s that still bowl in leagues and have a great time.

My favorite sport is Badminton. I love it because the pace of the game can be modified according to all the players participating. We could have a slow run on a game and include a 40's group and not be bored keeping the score because we see them enjoying and it's nice to play a sport where your parents can actually have the energy to last for hours. When the right group of 20 somethings collide though, it's a different story. That would be somewhat of a championship tourney going on with 4 courts in parallel and winners duke it out against each other. The losers take a breather Besides it's fun because it doesn't have an age, gender or skill bias. You don't have to be that good to enjoy it too although the more you play, the more you'd want to step up your game. Smash, feather-touch or volley your opponent. Change your style often and you get harder to beat everyday. Pair with a volley and be the feather-touch (people who like to fake a smash but actually just tap the shuttlecock), or be the intermediate (no particular style) and set up the smash. I kinda miss the game now that I am here in CA. I haven't found single badminton court close to home.

As it might be guessed, my favorite sport is *drum roll* bowling. Although leagues tend to mess up my social life. But, like hal, I am a bit biased as I pretty much grew up in my grandparents bowling alley.

my favorite sport has got to be midget tossing....or the banana shot-put..
my greatest achievement was tossing a 90lb midget 39 yards
and with the banana shot-put tossing it 82 yards
not sure but it my be a world record in both events

I think it might be since I think you might be the only person who plays. If you can throw 90 pounds so far you should try the javelin throw, discus, etc. You would surely win.
As for me and sports though I loathe sports and anything to do with them if they involve a ball of some sort. The only things that are sport like that I do are things where I am competing against myself or some sort of inanimate object like weight lifting, running, swimming, etc. While they are more along the lines of activites they are still also thought of as sports.

Magikltrevr, it's just too bad that your 300 wasn't in league. You could have gotten a ring. Wanted my husband to have a gold one, but am very reluctant to pay over $400 for it. It doesn't really matter, though, whether it was in league or not. You shot it and you have the scoresheet to prove it. You should be VERY proud! #yay#

I have three favorite sports. Bowling, football and shooting. I totally suck at bowling but have an absolute ball doing it, I think my average was like a 123 after 3 years of bowling league on lanes that were really in need of repair. When I bowl on our lanes I have a hook, when I bowl anywhere else I am straight as an arrow It has been like 10 years since they refinished the lanes and they are just horrible. Green Bay Packer games are my all time favorite thing to watch. Yep I am a true Cheese Head! I also played Co-Ed football in college and we won our little version of the superbowl between dorms! I also love to shoot competitively, my husband and I have a little game we play; we shoot at candles in the dark. The object of the game is to put the flame out without hitting the candle. I always win but George is a good sport about it, he realizes I have a bit of an edge. I've been trained professionally and I don't wear bifocals #rude# -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1152 × 864##1-+-

The hook would probably depend on the type of ball you use and the way the lanes are dressed. If there is little or no conditioning on the lanes, which is what it sounds like if they're not taking care of the lanes, you will be able to get more curve on the ball. Is there noone there who can coach you?
Am not a football fan myself. Do like to shoot, though. Don't get much practice at it so am not very good.

Nah not really, I have a couple of girlfriends that bowl but that is about it and they don't know how to teach it. They used to have a guy who worked there that did teach but he quit and yeah my curve is all over the place right after they oil the lanes, they can't seem to get it on evenly... that and believe it or not we actually have loose boards on some of the lanes and you can actually see the wear groove down the middle of the lane! -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1152 × 864##1-+-
