That is really bad. The lanes are probably beyond repair at this point. Sad. Was a bowling alley near here that you could see dust fly from the lanes when you rolled the ball. Out of business now... wonder why? Ours are in excellent shape. Still wood and absolutely beautiful. Will have to put a plastic coating on them soon though, since are getting old and a little thin. Won't be able to sand them down and refinish them before too long. Too bad there's noone there to coach. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Yeah, having coaches and good lanes is always a good bonus in any bowling alley. When I play in leagues, since it is youth leagues, there are always about 6 coaches watching so we can ask them anything to see what they think. I am always sad to see a bowling alley in bad shape though.

Yeah it really is to bad cuz that is where I learned how to bowl and with the way it is going down hill it won't be long and it wont be open anymore. I just found out the rest of my team is calling it quits this year also. It really is a shame, there is so little for the youth to do in that town.

Same here. All there is is the bowling alley and a skating rink that isn't open very much. Unfortunately, the parents complain constanly that bowling costs money... Most of the bowling alleys around here are for sale. Just can't make it anymore. People don't have the money to spend like they used to and don't socialize as much. Here complaints about gas prices all the time. Also don't like to commit to leagues, which is what keeps most bowling alleys in business... especially in small towns. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Yeah that is very true. If it weren't for the leagues I think ours would close also. Honestly I don't think it is long for this world anyway though. Teams have been dropping off left and right every year it seems we lose one or two.

Good luck, do you have to go all over then or do you get to like use your alley and have the home lane advantage?

Sadly, no home lane advantage. Have to travel to St. Louis. It's about a 5 hour drive. The good thing is that I get to get away for the entire weekend. Oh, and thanks... The way I've been bowling lately, I'm going to need all the luck I can get! -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Sounds like you have been playing to much Sacred then and not bowling. Maybe you should ask to have a Sacred tournament if you bowl really bad.

That might be a good idea. You could be right about playing too much Sacred. Take last night for example. Was on 5 strikes in row, went to roll the 6th and the ball just dropped off my hand into the gutter! Had a few choice words to say about that one. Instead of a 240+ I ended up with 219. That's the way it goes. #dragon# -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Hey, at least you didn't pull what I did. Front 6 strikes and a 213 game.

OOOHHH, Trev. What did you do?
Anyway, Not enough luck! Bowled badly except for one game, (235) which was too little too late. At least I finally figured out what the problem was and we had a lot of fun. We figure we're just not morning bowlers. Not awake enough I guess. LOL Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. Exhausting, but a lot of fun! Another tourney next weekend. Hopefully we'll do better there. Are more familiar with the area and the lanes there. #dragon#

Well, at least you didn't do really badly.
As for how I managed such a bad game with 6 strikes it is pretty simple, just leave every frame after those 6 open.
