The more and more I get exposed to this wonderful decade the more I wish I was slightly older. I was born in 80, so technically I lived through it, but not enough to remember it all. But boy do I love the things of it. The horrible attire and hair styles, the movie effects that were cutting edge then which are now only seen in the crappy b movies I love and of course the great music. I am watching the video for Bonnie Tylers - Holding Out For A Hero right now for like the millionth time in a few days since it is just so bad its great. I have no idea what is going on in it, but I love it. It starts out with some little crappy shack then flashes to a random cowboy who has what I would say is a lightsaber whip and when he cracks it random windows on the shack bread and burst into flames. There is also a group of girls inside it dancing for some reason. Then there is the cowboys chasing somebody on horses I think. Its all just so wonderful, its like the cartoons I watch on Adult Swim, but these were not trying to be bad. Man I need a time machine.

I used to feel that way too, but then I tried to connect with the 90s instead. Unfortunately though, few things were much fun in the 90s. I mean, look at the 80s spandex pants... you just can't top that.

I like the 90s as well, but mainly for the changes in computers done then, some of the movies that had better effects, and some bands I like now started then.

I am not going to agree on all here. First I liked Titanic, but only because I have always been fascinated by the ship. The love story needed to go away, other then the boobs scene, but oh well. I used to love Full House, although now I have no idea why and can not stand it. I also wore fanny packs, neon green and all that goodness too, but I was like 13 or so at that time and always went to garage sales and flea markets, so it made sense because I could keep my money in it and little things I buy. I suppose I still could use them now, but only ones that are made for light hikes that hold two waterbottles and some food.

The important thing here is that we all agree that AIDS sucks. I mean, it's hard enough for me being pro-cancer. I don't know how anyone could maintain a pro-AIDS platform and not be stoned to death.

I was never a fan of Fanny Packs and shudder when my mom wears them today. I'm sure if I searched deep inside family archives I could find a picture of myself sporting one, but am not proud of it.
Reasons why Fanny Packs are the Worst things Ever -They typically came in obnoxious day-glo colors -It was an excuse for men to wear purse like things -They transmitted AIDS
And griff, I totally agree with you. Which is why we need to stop AIDS in its tracks and eradicate fanny packs.

I might be confused here but are we talking about AIDS the virus, or something else? Because if it is the virus it has been around for much longer then the 90s, the first known case is believed to have been in 1959.

Yes, we are speaking of the HIV virus. I know it has been around for longer than the 90s, but the 90s were the big breakout point for AIDS. It was like the new cool thing, wear a fanny pack and get AIDS...

I mean, until fanny packs, AIDS was hardly in existence. It was part of the chorus, while things like Small Pox and Polio always got the leads. And then Fanny Packs came and AIDS really stepped into the limelight. In fact... on it's way to the top it punched Polio and Small Pox in the face. But thats ok, because Small Pox was a butthole anyway.
