Back to the 80s...
Tell me, who is a better actor than Michael J Fox (before Parkinson's)? Nobody. Back to the Future pWnTz j0()! That is why the 80s are awesome.
Not to mention hair metal bands. Who doesn't love hair metal?

The true battle between the 80s and the 90s comes down to hair metal vs. grunge. I'm a pro-flannel wearing grunge fan myself. That's right... I even like Pearl Jam.
Oh... and even Ben Affleck is better than Michael J Fox. And he really sucks.

I am with griff, hair metal rules. Almost all bands I listen too are that way. As a testament to how cool those bands are it can be seen since most metal bands in other countries around the world do that style. Back to the Future is one of the greatest movie series of all time, and I should probably watch them right now, hhhhmm, 6 or so hours puts me at 4am about, 2 hours of sleep for an anthro test, its possible.
Also I did not notice beckyh's comment there at the end, so I have to say griff you have some fixing to do with her tonight.

Refer to "The End of an Act" in Funny Song Lyrics. Ben Affleck sucks. The only decent thing about him is that he was in the Voyage of the Mimi, but even then, he wasn't my favorite part. I just liked learning about the Mayans.

hahahah LOVE metal hair, Loved grunge too, but the metal hair was the best, Still got mine, just its not teased /no hairspray. Its so rare to see nowadays, The true funny rarity was to do a wolf call to what you thought was a guy and have it be a girl... Ow that was bad...

I'm not a big metal fan. It kinda sounds all the same to me. (Please don't stone me to death) I guess it was just a little bit before my time. I was born in 87

Just thought I'd share a little Ben Affleck, Voyage of the Mimi style. Note how he makes the same face in movies now and it still qualifies as "acting" pssht.

metal is timeless, so it is not before your time. For me I do not like the metal of the 70s, or much of the 80s actually. I like the modern stuff, although the modern stuff comes from other countries which seem to have a style more close to the 80s ones here, but they are recorded in new studios that dont sound like crap, so I like them. As for it sounding all the same, some of the subgeneras do, like when they scream, but the ones that do not scream so you can understand the words dont sound different, but then again I base this off of bands that come from other countries. To me though music that sounds horribly similar is alternative and to a slightly lesser extent the rap, r&b, hip hop, etc.
Oh and you would not be stoned to death since it is not brutal enough, you would probably be tortured much more slowly in some sort of medieval or viking like ceremony.
Ari, you must wear your jacket all the time now.

Yeah, that is basically the death metal style. I listen to some of that kind, although most of what I listen to metal wise is symphonic metal which is how I can say metal is timeless since it mixes better with classical style music then any other genera.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. I have to say I still like today's alternative music. I think there are certain bands that sound too similar, or every single song they create sounds the same.. but I tend to avoid those bands. It's usually not because I don't like the song, but more because I get tired of hearing the same drum line, the same bass, and a very similar chord/riff progression from the guitarist.
I think rap all sounds very similar, and all of it sends a bad message to nearly everyone that hears it. It may be nice and all that it shows young black children that they can make it and become famous, but if anyone listens and takes the music to heart (like country music fans do) then our generation is basically screwed.
