Things like to do that on the forum for some reason. It used to happen a bunch in the past, but not so much now. I suppose I can just make it not be a thumb. Hopefully none of the art pics have been doing the same thing lately.

Good to know, and I did not even change anything since I did not get around to it, so must have been a fluke. Do you have your copy of the game yet?

Just got it. Will install it tonight when I get home. Also got Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Have you played it yet?

Have not played it, dont think I will even though I want too. So many games out that I want to play and for every RPG I choose to play it means about 5 other ones I can not since they are so time consuming. You should play NWN2 first though so I can help you out if I can while things are fresh in my mind. Have fun.

Well, got it installed finally... after having all kinds of trouble with my dvd drive. Wouldn't eject the dvd, crashed my computer several times.... #arghh# Device driver was corrupted somehow. Anyway, finally got it installed but won't play. All I can see is what looks like a fire in a fireplace... nothing else at all just blackness. So, will look for a better card or something. Just my luck. #foamy#

Before doing anything like that make sure you have the newest drivers for your card. Here is the link for the drivers I think you need, so long as you still have the 9800 and are using Windows XP. When I had that card I used to get drivers that are not official ones like that though, which you can get here. Just choose one of the links on the page to get them. I used them because they cut out some of the extra junk I never used in the official ones and sometimes they performed better. Other things to make sure are updated is direct-x, although that should install with the game. Where you installed the game there should also be an exe that is made for your particular cpu, or I assume there would be since I have one for mine. Like for me the file is called nwn2main_amdxp, so I would think for you it would be like nwn2main_p4, or something like that, unless they only make a different file for me. You can also try all the other exe files in there. For some reason they seem to have included like 5 things to start the game, so maybe one of them will work. I have one other idea as well, but I cant seem to find anything to change what I want right now, so I will search on the forums for your problem.

Well I cant seem to find anything there that totally matches your issue. Some people say their screen goes black and they let it sit for like 10 minutes and it randomly works. It seems that many of the slow loading problems came about around the 1.02 patch, but they have newer patches then that out. I have not patched mine though, so if you have patched yours then you could try reinstalling it to see if it works, or if you have not patched it then try and patch it and see if that works. If you do want to get a new videocard though let me know how much you want to spend on one and I will look for some for you. If you goto a store they probably wont have many, if any cards for you since you have an agp card. I do too still and while you can find cards for it, most are the newer pci express ones.

Will try installing the latest patch first. Unfortunately, I have slow dial-up at home so will be awhile before I get to it. In the mean time, Oblivion works just fine. Will be highly addictive I think. Great game so far.

If one of you have a chance can you post the required/recommended CPU specs? I sort of looked with no luck, but I am considering getting the game... especially since I couldn't get anyone to play SRO with me . A couple friends from school started playing but they aren't video game addicts so I quickly out level them on all my characters...

Did you ever get this working on your comp Hal? I just upgraded mine and now have an Intel CPU again, so if I run into problems similar to yours and figure out what to do I will let you know. Right now I just have to install the game again and I am pretty lazy after having to troubleshoot my computer for a few days.
