It might have been that way, but it was so long ago that I do not remember how it goes. But I am thinking that it does not make any difference in 2 since I am still on act 2 and there are three, and I am level 16 right now and it seems that about level 20 is when people finnish the game, and then I would assume that in expansions is when levels up to 40 will be attained.

So, do you have to start a new character? I think I still have a couple of characters saved. One was a level 27 wizard I think. Never took all of them through SoU and HoU, so the rest are quite a bit lower level I think. Don't really remember. Anyway, sounds like fun. Thanks Area.

You know, I did not try to import an old character, but I am almost positive you need to start a new one because it is a different time line and you start out back at level 1, so if you have a level 27 character you would be blasting through everything with no challenge.

I checked and the character is level 27 so it sounds like I'll have to start a new one. Should be fun!

So far it is a lot of fun. I cant remember a whole lot of the first one, but I do remember I liked the original, thought the first expansion sucked and that the second was better then the original and first expansion combined. In comparision I would think I like 2 more then any of the first since it reminds me more of Baldurs Gate. Like there are romances again and having more then one henchman and being able to control them I like. There is also the ability to make items, so I suppose I would not have to visit people who could do it like in the first one, but so far I have not tried it, I just collect the items and they sit around.

Another update, this time on dragon fighting, and it is like a dragon battle should be where you basically have no chance of winning. I have fought what I assume to be the only one in the game three times so far and I have been annihilated within about two minutes at the longest. It is definatly no Sacred dragon that is easy to figure out. There is the same breath weapon style attack, but you can not move out of the way and it will hit all your people if they are in range, and probably kill them too. Also it likes to knock my people down and then step on them while they are down, which hurts. I have gotten the health down to about half though so it can be killed, I just have to figure out how to keep my people from dying so fast since you cant bring them back to life like you could in the Baldurs Gate games.

Ok, so I killed the dragon on my 5th try using the same tactics I used on dragons in Baldurs Gate where I would have about half my group do ranged attacks while my best tanks tried to keep the dragon from moving to far foward to hit the ranged people. It worked on the 5th time, the 4th time it failed miserably since all my ranged people got killed in a breath attack right at the start as they were trying to run to a safer distance. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the third chapter in the game get really really cool after a while, so much so that I think I am having more fun in these recent parts then all of the first games and the first two chapters of two combined. It is epic and glorious, and makes me remember why I got into these games in the first place. Wish I could say more, but I do not want to spoil any of the fun.

Thx Area. Just for freaks, I´ve seen you can purchase 2 special Deluxe boxes, one labeled "Lawful Good" and the other "Chaotic Evil". Dunno what comes inside, but they looked superb. Price was 60 € (40$?).
As for alignements, I didn´t know the point system worked that way... so if you turn more evil, you change from Lawful Evil to Neutral Evil and so on? That is nonsense... has nothing to do with alignement rules from D&D.
I´ve heard that NVW2 was based on the 3.5 D&D rules system, is that right? and what are the requirements? Similar to the first part, or would I need a new PC?

I have not seen those special editions around here, maybe they come with a figure that is good or evil in them. The rule set is 3.5 and I will revise how the alignment seems to work since I beat the game a few days ago and now understand it more. Your actions can make it so you will either go more to being evil, neutral, or good, as well lawful and chaotic. Like say you started out as a chaotic good, but you started to be evil and only evil points were given to you then in time you would retain the chaotic part, but gain the evil. I started at being a lawful evil, then I lost it and became lawful neutral and then I started doing a bunch of chaotic things so I was chaotic neutral, then I was evil so I became chaotic evil and stayed there almost till the end when I became chaotic neutral again. The requirements are a P4 2.4ghz, 512 ram, and a Geforce 6600 or Radeon 9700 series graphics card. It is much higher then the first one. Without knowing what computer you have I cant say if you would need a new one, but if you have not upgraded anything since the era of NWN1 then you would most likely need to upgrade. It might be possible to turn things way down and have it still work, but I turned things way up except for some shadows that seemed to make the game slow to a crawl, and the computer I played NWN1 on I know cant play it since the videocard is to old to even be supported.
In other news for Hal I just wanted to let you know that after beating the game I found out that there are two endings, one will be for a good and lawful character and another for evil, so if you want to see both you will need to play through the entire game twice, which is what I am doing now. I lost my evil the first time around so now I am starting out as evil as can be and plan to keep it by treating everybody like crap. I also decided to try and be a character type I would normally never be, in this case I am a tiefling warlock, so wish me luck since I can no longer be a tank.

There are 8 races to choose from, 3 of which only have one kind you can be like a human does not have any variants, but the rest have atleast two, some like elves have 4 kinds, then there are 12 classes to choose from the start with another 17 prestige classes to choose later on. Like when I finnished the game with my first character I was a level 16 fighter and I took two presitge classes which were a level 3 blackguard and level 1 neverwinter nine. For my current character since she is going to be fully evil I will probably take the blackguard class to 3 again because when you get there you get a nifty ability that always reduces the saving throws of your enemies and then I might take another class of assassin.

Man, if warlock does what it does in the "3.5 Complete Arcane", you won´t need to tank. Just fly and throw your blast again and again...
I had a warlock, I named him Clint Eastwood...
Guess I´ll have to do without NWN2, my videocard is not enough, and only got 1.66 GHz... I play on a portable computer...

Well even at 1.66ghz you might be fine since if you have a different class then a P4 you could be fine. Like an AMD Athlon XP 2000 (which is 1.66ghz incidently) or so is the equivalent chip for them, and if you have a newer Intel chip like the Core Duo or Core 2 Duo then 1.66 would be fine. You can always get the game and see if it plays or not, or you could check the NWN2 forums to see how the game runs for different people since there is always people trying to get games to run on older computers.

Cool, well the Core 2 Duos are currently the best CPU's out, so you will be more then fine there, especially since the game does not require a dual core cpu to run. I am not sure if the game makes use of dual cores, but I know that the game knows what CPU you have because when you install it the exe to run the game will say your cpu brand in the name, like mine says AMD XP in the name, so they make optimizations for it. If they do the same for the Core 2's then you will be more then fine there.
