The girl thing doesn't work, since I don't like the CSI's and neither do several women I know. He-man Women Haters Club? Whoa there Hoss! Are you sure you've debunked my theory? Are you from the former "East" Germany? Question about the Little Rascals : Was the girl in the show they started the club( ref:He-man Women Haters Club) to keep out named Violet? I believe I just proved again: I AM GEEZER HEAR ME SNORE!

It was Darla and woman haters not women -- sorry for hijacking the thread again!
Now back to the originally scheduled program.

Haha Little Rascals was sooo cute... But anyway I didn't say that the shows are fact.... I said they are based on fact.... meaning that there is some truth in them. I do realize that we don't have ALL of those forensic capabilities yet but I am sure we do have plenty of them. The problem is that the Police force probably doesn't use them as often as they should because they must be extremely expensive to do... So yeah I just wanted to clear that up... I am not a total sucker LOL

I have to say that I'm not sure if springer is still on, but I do know that he was just on Dancing With The Stars, and he just got voted off. I only know this because I was watching Regis and Kelly, Live! this morning and Springer was a guest because he got voted off.. He also did a dance routine, and I must say it wasn't half bad.

Hi. I guess I'm just a little too shallow for "motivations" for watching CSI. I just watch it because I like it. It's the only non-animated show on the 4 major Broadcast networks that I watch. I started watching it because I saw that William Peterson was in it. I've been a huge fan of his work ever since I saw "To Live and Die in L.A." about a million years ago (I still think that's one of the most under-appreciated films ever ). I kept watching because for Network-TV it is exceptionally good. Even though the dialogue can sometimes be described as cheesy, I've remained entertained the whole time it's been on.

LOL this is waaaaaaaaaayyyy overdue and I'm sorry rend for not backing you up several months early on this Well I like CSI for one simple reason: I'm in the medical field. It's not always the mystery of the crime that has me hooked, it's how medically viable these things are likely to happen to someone because of another human being's insane nature. For me, the most mysterious way to die is because of an idiopathic disease. But because of another human being? Sounds simple enough to me. But CSI seems to put it in a way where there is still some complexity to the word "murder" and to some point, some of them were not. I don't like all their episodes. In some episodes I just ranted about how medically impossible the cause of deaths were. But these shows do walk on the thin line in order to have more entertainment value. Most of these cases are based on FBI Forensic files. They were fictionalized, characters were changed, but generally the plot is somewhat the same. Or so they claim all these to be. In this same perspective, I also like HOUSE. It's like CSI of a Hospital where the murder mystery is the disease. You don't have to be medically inclined to watch it. Due to the severity of some smart ass lines, viewer discretion is advised. If you like people being an ass and still triumph over the benevolent beings around him, you'll love this show.

haha House is my favorite show on TV right now.. I can't get enough of him being an ass to everyone.
I don't know what I said when I posted last on this thread, and I'm kinda lazy so I'm not going to check... but I think CSI develops too slowly and then when it is developed there isn't much to it. I guess if I had Deon's knowledge of the medical stuff or any knowledge of actual crime scene investigating then maybe it would appeal more towards me.
(Deon): When you watch House can you sometimes diagnose the patient before/at the same time as House does? Out of the 3 seasons I've watched I may have gotten 1 right... but purely on a guess, not knowledge and recognition of the symptoms.

Some of the cases yes. But some of the episodes present with rare occurences and not necessarily a rare disease. There were episodes that they thought it was a neurologic disease (well technically it is) but they forgot to take a look at the topography of the injury and failed to diagnose the rabies early (episode of a housewife with guilt issues, lived in the streets and got bitten by bats). At any rate, her symptoms seem to be of the later stages and her death would be inevitable. I think to the best of my abilities I get around 30% of the time right out of those 3 seasons. Like I said, some of them, the chances of happening or manifesting would be closer to none than slim. So I wouldn't have thought of it that way. Plus he dictates the treatment too fast #lmao# if I got the drugs on first say, I would have derived much of the conclusion from there... but noooo I have to watch 3/4's of the way till I get it and what's wrong. What he does is actually (though ethically wrong) is fun. For me the mystery of an undiagnosed disease is appealing and challenging. There was also this one episode that had me fooled. All the symptoms of MS was there (the kid that played La Crosse and manifested neurologic symptoms): myoclonus, affectation of the optic nerve, paresthesia, and then it turned out to be something else. Man that had me rolling #lmao# and if he was my patient he could have died.
But the catch of the show I believe is his A-hole attitude, his badgering of Wilson, his obsession (I think) of Cuddy's cleavage, the way he treats his staff LOL I love that episode where he wanted to make Cameron's mouth open and he said "Cameron, I love you." and her jaw dropped... LOL
Ok I'm babbling....

You what? Ok how do you do that? I had to purchase some episodes off for iPod downloads so I could watch it at work.... But the absolutely lovely moment of House, was when Wilson finally decided to retaliate and filed his cane halfway through. The look on House' face, a classic WTF look, was priceless LOL even though he was only acting

Or as an alternative to watching them online you can download episodes. Its a bit more complicated, but you can get better quality, burn to a disc to watch on tv, or just keep episodes to later watch if you want. Currently it is not illegal to download tv shows, if it was then sites like the ones wolfe listed would not be allowed, and sometimes networks even support making copies of their shows to show other people, probably for ratings reasons. Anyway what I do is I use one of the peer to peer programs called emule which you can get here. Now once that is installed all you need to do to get shows is either search for them in the program, or even easier is to goto this site. You just find the show you want and it will add it to be added tp download automatically. It can take a while for a show to download, but if you add them before going to sleep, work, etc then the next time you come back they should be done, unless its some obscure show, but if its popular you can get them fast. Like for me one of my favorite shows is The Simpsons. While I watch it on tv on sunday night I can typically download it from the site 12 or so hours later, so if you end up missing a show you like you could watch it the next day or so. Not sure if the sites that are online are instant or not though, so those might be even faster. Finally if you choose to download shows it will take up lots of hard drive space. I have 1.2 terabytes on my compter (1200 gigs) and about 450 of that is given to tv shows alone on 30 or so series I have downloaded. Of course most people are not as crazy as I am so much less space would be fine.
