I am wondering what people dislike about S2? I am rather angry with the game right now so I figure I can list things that make me mad.
First I think the campaign is too long. Right now I just want the game to end so I can move on to another game, but it just keeps going. Normally I like long games, but I have been playing for 60 or so hours and still have like 15% of the story left to go, if you can call it a story that is. Games this long I like to have a story, and I honestly have no idea what is going on in the game for one.
I hate when the game crashes on me since it likes to not remember that I saved a million times past the last resurrection monolith. Like right now I am fighting the guardians in like chapter 10 or something. I will kill say 2 of the 4, and then it crashes, I load up and I am either at the monolith, or I am at the point I saved, but the stupid guardians are back to life. I have had to kill them like 20 times so far it seems, so I hope the next patch fixes the random crashes, or at least makes it so the game remembers that I killed something. I guess killing things that are bosses again is not too bad since I get more exp and all, but I am so bored of them right now.
Since I am in the guardian area I want it to go on record that I hate the little guardians in it that look like the temple guardian so much that I almost never want to play the game again. Well I guess it is not them themselves, but they uber cheap spell of the fire trap, or whatever it is since I have died from it about 5 times now. It does not make any sense to me really since I can go toe to toe with dragons or other big bosses, yet a few of these little guardians shoot their trap spell and if I miss walking around them then I die pretty much instantly, or the game just fails to register me pushing the space bar.
I also do not like the little orbs of light, the fen feis, or something like that. They die easily and all, but their lightning annoys me and they seem to have a really high defense for some reason.
I also hate taking screen shots of things since I have to either run a 3rd party program that S2 hates and will crash on about 20 times more frequently, or I can just hit print screen and exit into windows myself and put it in paint or something, but it just takes so long. I wish they would make the screen capture ability be like in S1, since it worked, and did all that was needed without taking forever.
I am sure there are other things that anger me about the game right now but that is what I have fresh on my mind.

Sorry about your game experience. I assume you have patched the game and occassionally make back up copies of your saved game folder. I suggest every other day since you are having the problem. I had the same problem with Dungeon Siege 2. I suggest you put the game down and come back to it later (like in a month or so). Also, avoid side quests. This helped me with that game.

I also hate the random crashes, here I am going along just fine and then everything goes black and back to the monolith I go. I have not gotten as far as you have AREA but I know the feeling about the quests and getting bored with them, seeing as I am in bronze for the moment and not leveling frequently (lvl 21 Sera).
The camera was the most difficult thing I have experienced so far and that took a bit of getting used to but I finally got the hang of it. I am sure I am going to walk away for about a week or so from the game when I get real bored with it but for now it is quest quest quest for me as when I go after to beat a game I go at it with all I have and everything has to be uncovered from the FOW or it will drive me crazy. Just going one section at a time here.
Have you found a pause button yet, because I sure haven't?
My game is fully patched and I check every couple of days for a new one. Not sure when it will come out but I have only had S2 since Tuesday, LOL

I hate when quests make me walking to and fro, with lots of monsters in the area. Especially when the map forces you to walk a long way around.
An example would be the lich quest in Elven capitol's port section. Makes you go to port (but the nearby gate is blocked), port itself forces you look at map a lot, then you go back, and have to return again to kill the lich that will only spawn at this point.

No pause button that I know of either, which is another anoyance for me since I once, early on, hit esc to bring up the menu while I went to get something to eat, and I come back to find out I was killed, so not fun there.
I think the monster spawn rate is too high sometimes myself. Some of the quests that you walk around a long way to get to just takes forever since there are so many enemies. A lot of the time I want to just stop for a bit to look at what I have picked up only to get attacked by another 15 waves of enemies.
Along with the walking long distances I hate how sometimes there will be a mountain or forest in the way of where I want to go that goes on forever it seems.
I know another patch is in the works, and it should be out fairly soon, so hopefully they will fix the main issues for the random crashes. I know I read they are adding in more optional bosses, so that should be fun.
So far none of the crashes have had a huge effect on me yet, but I probably should do a backup of my saves just in case since it would really suck to loose all my work.

None of the crashes have had a huge effect on me either. One thing I have noticed though is that my hubby hasn't crashed once playing S2 and the main difference between our computers is our OS, I have XP and he has Vista, the only thing he has noticed is a bit of lag at times.
When it comes to some of my crashes I noticed if there are quite a few Shamen in the area it tends to lag more and then crash, wierd since my comp is brand new.
One other major annoyance I have is there is not a save button unless you can find a cave quickly or hit a monolith you havent hit already or you finish a quest. I wish it had a save button so that you can save whenever you want rather than running around and finishing a quest real quick.

Ah but there is a save button, it is F9, and it should be your friend.

I haven't been able to play yet but I have a few things I hate that people have told me about, mostly it effects me creating my website...
1. When you take a screenshot in game you either have to use a third party program to do it, or minimize the game and paste the print screen into a graphics program because the game screenshots remove the interface from the shots. Which means trying to get shots of quest dialog, items, etc. is going to be a huge pain in the butt. Plus it means less people are going to be willing to donate useful shots.
2. Not all unique items are truly unique, a bunch of them are randomly generated which means I have to sort through them all and guess as to which are which. Generally, the ones that are called blah blah OF blah blah are generated ones, but I don't think that is ALWAYS the case. ARGH!
3. No location names on the map! When you enter a new area a message just pops up on the screen telling you the area's name for a few seconds, which makes it a lot harder to get a list of locations and for people to ask or explain things because they can't just glance at their map to be reminded of where something is. So it means a lot of confusing explanations of people trying to tell what area they are in.

I love the first sacred series. Still play it. My son and I played over 180 hours my first Summer off as a teacher. Wife was P!$$ed But I wanted to do every quest I could find. Still haven't completed the game though. I like Sacred 2 almost as much. Few things I'd like changed. 1. PAUSE option (like others have said). 2. Fix the Day/Night clock. I've had it go from night to day and back in less than 20 minutes. Or it take 4 hours. Not sure why. Not a big deal, but it's a bit annoying. 3. Better documentation. 4. Save slots. Sucks to have to copy folders, etc. 5. Big one for me here. Let me zoom out farther and at a lower angle. I run at 1920x1200 and I might as well run at 1024x768. 6. Fix the "see through" of walls, dungeons, etc. It seems like every time I walk into a cave or building I have to push the view to top-down. All the while I'm getting pounded on by monsters. 7. Release a Hi-Res patch for those of us who CAN'T buy that version of the game. I live in Ohio and the only version available is CDV. Even though the box says "at least 20GB required", my install is only 12.6GB. I've reinstalled and that's it. I'd even pay for the difference. 8. Let us mark the map. Or release a hi-res printable (NO COLOR) map that I can mark with a pen.

Wow, I almost forgot a HUGE annoyance.
Give me more quest info before forcing me to accept. Seriously. I hate that many times I click on someone and the only button is OK. I'd really like to see where I have to go before accepting, but I understand that may be hard to program.

I think some of the things you find annoying can be fixed, or explained. For documentation I feel that the reason there is so little told about the game is because so many people had fun with figuring out S1. For somebody who just wants to get in and play the game there is basically enough info for them to get going, although I would think a little more would help a lot for them. For those that like to figure things out though is where is gets really fun. I know around here we had people coming up with formulas to calculate how much resistance would go up for putting on an item with a certain modifier, or what the odds are to get the full points on certain quests. It kind of makes you feel like you are a part of the game to figure the stuff out. I play at 1920 here myself as well, and while the zoom all the way out level is fine for me, I know others want more. You can create your own custom options file though and set the zoom to whatever you want. One of the members asked on it and we figured out how to make it work, and that info is here. For the high resolution images I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think Ascaron will offer them eventually. I bought the collectors edition on Ebay so I could have all the extras, and as far as I can tell the game is just the normal one inside a bigger box with the extras inside it, such as a cd that has the extra textures on it. I did not need to put in another key to get it to work, so because of that I would think they eventually will release them for free. The map you are asking for also, kind of, comes with the collectors edition since it has a paper map of the world, although it is not very large, but you could still mark on the map. While on the map topic though I want to add that I do not like how I can not scroll the map to see the entire thing at once while in the game. For more quest info, I am going to assume you are playing either a sera or inquisitor? If so then that is why you do not get much info other than to accept a quest. Since those chars can only be good and evil respectively they do not get the option to do something else. When I play as my sera I have had a few missions, mainly on the main quest, that only say ok, but at least for the side quests I can just say no at that point and come back to it later.

While on the map topic though I want to add that I do not like how I can not scroll the map to see the entire thing at once while in the game. If you're talking about the full-screen map (M), hold down the right mouse button at the point you want to move and move the mouse. For more quest info, I am going to assume you are playing either a sera or inquisitor? Nope, Temple Guardian.

I did find out last night about using the right button, but I still would be like to view the whole map at once since it is not like the map has a lot of detail or anything I would be missing.
I am wanting the map to be while I am in the game though, I have the map with the bosses I use right now, but it is kind of annoying to either have to have my laptop on with the map shown, or to minimize the game to use the map on my main computer.
