I find my frame rates get rather low some times. I turned on fraps today.. and they started around 25-30FPS.. but at one point I was down to 9FPS... I have a pretty good machine, so I don't know why I'm getting stuff like that.. here are my specs... Windows XP 64 SP2 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 6000+ 3.01 GHz 4GB RAM NVidia GeForce 9800 GX2 (not running in SLI mode when playing as have dual monitors) Game is running at highest RES and full graphics Any suggestions for higher FPS (other than running at 800x600 and turning off all the graphics hehe) would be appreciated.

Delete any programs you don't use. Defrag your hard drive. Disconnect from the internet, then turn off your anti-virus and any other background programs. And yes, lower your resoultion.

Okay. If none of that worked, try this (it's sounds weird, but it might help): run DXDIAG and on the sound tab, lower the hardware acceleration to "Basic Acceleration" If that doesn't help, set the sound hardware acceleration to "No Acceleration"

Oh, I'm not saying non of that work.. I just didn't do any of it. I know that the majority of that (excepy lowering the resolution) will fix the issue. I don't run many apps on start up, and the ones I do run aren't processor intensive. I could turn off NOD32 or add an exception for Sacred in it, but I doubt that will fix it. Disconnecting from the net will have no effect as the lag happens in offline mode as well. As for deleteing any unused apps, I have 1.6 TB of space on my machine over 5 drives, One drive 250GB drive for games alone and there is over 200GB free on that drive. There's no need to delete unused apps. I can play Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 for hours on max res and it plays flawlessly. My machine is more than meets the system req's for Sacred 2. I can't see anything other than an in game issue that would cause the FPS to suddenly drop from 30-25 down to 10FPS or less. I appreciate the suggestions, really I do, but as a PC tech, I know those won't fix the issue. I can try the sound card option, but I doubt that will affect the lag, but we'll see.

You might want to purchase and install a second Nvidia 9800 GX2 video card (run two at the same time). You can also check the tech support forum at the official site.

Well one of these cards is still enough to run this game. But the 9800 GX2 is actually two cards in one. Running them in SLI mode disables my 2nd monitor as Windows XP 64 doesn't support dual monitors in SLI mode, only Vista does and I am not installing a crapy OS like Vista. But that should still not cause the low FPS I am getting.

What's causing the fps you're getting is insufficient hardware for what you want to do. I have less RAM, and a lower end video card than you, and I can run the game fine (I just don't try to max all the video settings). You said, "I can play Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 for hours on max res and it plays flawlessly" LoL Rainbow 6 has lower system requirements than Sacred 2. Sometimes a hardware solution is the easiest to implement (hardly ever the least expensive). I hope you resolve the matter to your satisfaction. You might consider posting your question in a technical forum, rather than here.

New patch is supposed to eliminate the Christmas quest.

They will probably bring it back for this years xmas though. Maybe they will even have other themed quests for different major holidays, which could be fun.
