hi well, everybody is concerned about new characters and new skills and so on i'm worried about those engines for environment i love sacred, nwn1 and dungeon siege 2 !! they run perfect with high settings for perfect view and speed but the new nwn 2 won't work as well as any episode of elder scrolls on my computer, cuase nwn2 is developed on the same engine... so for some will be a new game, for me will be a new game on a new computer who knows something about the new engine they will use in sacred 2 ? i think many of us will want to know this before the game will be released next year

It is an in house engine, so Ascaron made it themselves, although as far as I know they have not even said the name of the engine. So with that nobody really knows what the requirement will be. There is going to be support for the Ageia Physx stuff, and hopefully there will eithe be a way to emulate some of those effects in software, or using whatever the nVida, or ATi/AMD incarnations are. Typically to run a game that had a time frame of being released a year or so away you would want whatever the current top videocard is to run the game in all its glory, which would mean a GeForce 8800GTX from nVidia, or a Radeon X2300XTX (to be released Q2 this year). Of course you can get away with something less, but then something will have to be turned down. For me I can sort of justify this by comparing S2 to NWN2. I have beaten through NWN2 twice now and on my heavily overclocked 7800GS which is about on par with a 7900GT I can run the settings at max, with the exception of the shadow textures which I have to put on medium, probably due to my only having 256 megs of video ram, compared to 512 or more for most cards out now. Even though I can run NWN2 fine at high settings S2 looks much better in the screenshots and videos, so unless the engine is very very scaleable, such as the Half Life 2 engine, I believe it will need one of the current top cards. On a final note though nothing has been metioned on if S2 will require, or even have the option to use DX10 features, but seeing as how it is so far off from release I would definatly plan on it supporting them, and probably needing them, which would mean a need for Vista as well.
All the above it just my opinion and educated guessing, so if anybody has something more definative then let us all know.

same in here, i'm talking only from informations i'm reading on web, from there i know that nwn2 engine was bought by its developers from same company as elder scrolls producers the same lovely environment as i have in dungeon siege 2 with high speed, it is on titan quest with awful movement of my character ... from screenshots of sacred 2 we will have the best adventure exploring lands with lovely design ... i cannot wait this new episode of sacred
