Oh, Yeah! Will start saving now since I'm pretty sure I'll need a new video card. The detail on the close-up of the gladiator is amazing. Can't wait! #woohoo#

Well I guess I was wrong on some of the info on the images. Apparantly the only character to be in Sacred 2 from the original will be the sera, although there should be 6 total characters to choose from. The character I thought was a gladiator is not, it is an undead centurion (which is a Roman style fighter) which makes sense to me since I was thinking the guy did look very Roman like. I assume he is the replacement to the gladiator though. I could be wrong in thinking this, but he does look like of dead like. On a german site they say the character is this, untote zenturio, so that is where I get my assumption. There is also another class they call this, Hochelfin, although I am not sure what to think that is. Those come off a translated page so your guess is as good as mine for that. I am thinking it will be some sort of magic character, sounds like it has chief in the name.
Also it says there will be three areas to distribute points, so I guess that means attributes, skills, and something else.
It talks about ragdoll effects which is something I have not seen in a rpg game before, but will be really cool if they implement it correctly. I mostly see it in fps games where say I shoot some guy in the arm then he will have damage there and it will affect his performance with it, same would go for a leg. So that in conjunction with the physx stuff can make for some really cool fights that should be really realistic.
On the offical forum somebody said they read that a GeForce7600 256 meg card and 1 gig of ram will not be enough for the game. I could not find that info anywhere on the German site that was translated, so I dont know where they got it from, but it would seem that it could be a correct assumption based off the images.
Only time will tell though how much of this stuff holds true. The game is only in alpha stages right now so there can be many many changes before it is released. I just hope they include the old characters, or atleast have something that is very similar, and of course some new ones. Some people think the game will be set way before the story of S1 which is why the sera is the only character there, although it would seem logical to think the dwarf would be there since the dwarves were in power long ago in the game, and also the daemon I would think would be there since they are certanly not a new creature.

If we can believe what somebody said on the offical forum, then that other class I was not sure what it would translate to would be High Elves. I dont have any idea what they would be though since no game I have played so far has had a class like that, although it could be guessed that it would be the class similar to the Dark Elves, but probably a good race. So I guess maybe the translator should have made the name be Hoch elfin, which would make sense for an elf class.

Ragdoll physics is quite nice. City of Villains uses it already... it's great fun knocking someone across a room and watching them land in a tangle of limbs. (At least the first dozen times you do it.)
As for video card requirements... hope you've got a newish (PCI Express rather than AGP video) system. City of Villains runs adequately on a GeForce 6800 with 256 MB of RAM. With a year or 2 of additional design technology available, I have a sneaking suspicion that the video card you'll need to run Sacred 2 well doesn't actually exist yet.

I have the article AREA posted about an month ago (it's from the German gaming magazine "Gamestar"). Ascaron and Gamestar named it the worldwide first preview available. I could translate it (well, write a summary), if someone is interested.
The teaser is in German, too. Unfortunately the information content is extremely close to zero.

Yeah most of the info I have been getting have been from the Gamestar site, but I ran it through a translator which does not work to well. You dont need to do a summary or anything big like that, but if you did notice anything incorrect that I posted or if I missed something that you feel is important that would be great if you could let us all know. Thanks

Not so much news. AREA, you covered most of it already pretty well.
The world map will be as big as in Sacred 1. Due to the new 3D-engine there won't be any unaccessible areas any more, so the playable area should be about 140% in relation to the Sacred 1 map.
Zooming and camera angle will be indefinitely variable.
There will be a third category of combat arts, "Techniques". For the Seraphim they plan the following Combat Arts Fighting: Hard Hit, Attack, Sprint, Combat Jump, Whirling Hit, Preparation (improved Attack values) Magic: Celestial Light, Energy Fire (kind of Fireball), Light, Conversion, Lightning Bolt (upgradeable to a chain bolt), Healing Techniques: Energy Shield. BeeEffGee, Emergency Shield, Hurled Blade (creates throw-able daggers), Sword Fire (kind of fire lightning), Shock wave (slows enemies down).
The story won't be divided into chapters. Now, Bosses will be the end of an episode, the enemies you fight before facing the Boss (I think that means in a certain region) will drop items which will help against the boss (e.g. viper antidotes if the boss uses poison).
In an interview designer Aarne Jungerberg affirmed that only the Seraphim will be transferred into Sacred 2. They hope to come up with a better story and to improve the item drop. (Item dropping shall be consistent with region, inhabitants and local boss)
There are no news about he upcoming characters (besides the undead Centurio (Fightertype) and the High Elvin (Magic)). However the editors mention a lot of conceptual art at Ascaron featuring a kind of barbarian warrior type.
ETA shall be end of 2006 but that seems very very optimistic, also because the ragdoll system isn't working properly yet and the 3D-engine seems to need extreme power. Well, we will see...

Thanks for the info ashantor, if you find any other German articles let us know what it says. Also on the offical forums today Mirko said to watch the info that comes out of this years E3 (which is the Electronics Entertainment Expo which is the main video game event each year). He did not say what the info would be but is was a post he did in the release date area, so maybe that will be it. I know the G4 channel will be having some coverage of it, so maybe something will be shown there, or this is the offical site for info. www.e3insider.com/-+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Ok so the info on the e3 comes in the form of a trailer for the game which is really really cool. I know on the offical forums people were saying the images released mage the game look kind of off, but seeing it in motion, well it is defintaly awesome. The name of the game is also not simply Sacred 2, it is Sacred 2 Fallen Angel. The video tells us that there are going to be both good and evil campaigns. That is something I always like since I have fun being evil and getting away with it. There are different things you can ride on now, although I have no idea what they are. There is one section that rapidly goes through what I think are the playable characters, and one looks to be the werewolf were had talked about. Anyway here is the video, if anybody knows what the other characters might be let us know. I think one is even a goblin. LinkTo get it click the link, then goto where it says "freeware downloaden", then click the only link that comes up, and then finally click the orange button to save it that says "Jetzt downloaden" -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

A little more info today. This link has an extended part from the e3 trailer that was computer generated with the Seraphim. Just click games, and then it is the center of the three. Looking at the older thing on the site there they also have the hellhound, which was posted here a while back, but I had forgotten about it. So that is what was being ridden on in the e3 trailer. The new one there tells a little about the story. It is 1000 years before Sacred, and I cant totally understand what the guy is saying, but it sounds like he says and elvin king who tames a power that can not be tamed. Also it has the symbol for S2 that was the first post in this topic, and it makes more sense now. The added parts form a roman numeral style 2. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-
