I figure if anybody comes across anything dealing with Sacred 2 they can post the info or links here. Today on the offical forums there was this link www.sacred2.de/It really isnt anything special, just a slow pan of what looks like a modified version of the Ancaria symbol from the first game, but its still a start. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Another little Sacred 2 tidbit. This time it is a picture of one of the enemies, a hellhound. It isnt a ingame shot or anything, but it is a 3d model you can spin around. Just click the link then click on games and the image is the center one. www.virgin-lands.de/main_en.htmlI am not sure who that Virgin Lands company is but apparantly they did some of the word on Underworld.

It has been a long while since I have found anything related to Sacred 2 but today I have two cool things for you all. The first is a image showing some shots of the game, sorry for it being small but it is all I can find currently. The next is a movie that shows some in game shots. It is a large download so if you have 56k you might be out of luck, it weighs in at 35.7 megs for the file. There are other games on it then Sacred 2, but if you skip to around 40 seconds it starts. Also I think it is in French so I dont know what they are saying but if somebody could translate it we would be very grateful. www.gamestar.de/downloads/videos/dvdtrailer/teaser0506.zip For those who can not download it the video shows a Gladiator for a few seconds in a small window and then for the actual game it shows the new way the Seraphim will look. She has long purple hair that is kind of anime style, her wings are transparant and look like wings actually, and she is wearing a skimpy outfit of what looks like straps of black leather. The game appears to be all polygons, so if you have trouble running the game now you will likely need to upgrade to play this one since the detail looks pretty good for such an early version of it. Actually the sera look like the one in the picture, the one with the two seras, the one in the video is on the right side. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

A small update that deals with my personal thoughts on what the game might be able to do due to the support of a dedicated physics processor. Recently there has been much talk dealing with physics in games and how it can make things far more realistic. So a company called Ageia has released a card that handles all the complex mathmatical calculations so that your computers CPU or graphics card wont have to. Here is their site on it... physx.ageia.com/index.htmlAlso a shot from one of the game conventions that shows Sacred II as supporting it. What is interesting is they they have it under a 2006 release, although I still think a 2007 is more likely, but big developers do get more info then us so you never know. Now this card will be about 300 bucks and wont be madatory so dont worry, you can still run games without one, but the benifits you could gain with one might be enough for people to get it. So with Sacred 2 being full 3d here are somethings they could implement into the game if they wanted, but again these are only my ideas. Say you have a dwarf and he drops a mine on a pile of rocks. Well the mine would blow up and also blow up that pile of rocks causing shrapnel to fly all around that would damage all the nearby orcs or whatever. Also the pieces could fly into buildings and damage them. If you were to attack a building the physix processor would be able to calculate the exact damage that would be done by the swing of your sword, and also when say a wall would fall down. So they would make the environments totally interactive if they wanted, although I dont think they would in a game like this. Say you have two people who are going to fight it out, one has a two handed sword, the other a rapier style one. No longer would it be that both swords move at the same speed. The guy with the two handed would be much slower, but if both swords were to clash then it could calculate the force exerted on the smaller sword so the other person would either loose their sword, have it cut in half, or they get knocked down. If you go around and chop off an enemies head or arm it would roll properly, or maybe even hang by tendions and whatnot if it calculated your attack was not enough to go all the way through. So basically with something like this they can make the game ultra realistic although since it is an action rpg and not a D&D style one I dont think much will be used other then probably a few areas you can interact with, like maybe a pile of rocks you can hack at to crush some enemies in a ravine below or maybe proper damage taken to say a flying opponent where if you were to cut up the wings of a dragon or dragon like creature it could not fly anymore. Another thing I just thought up would be say they choose to use different kinds of arrows in the game like they use in D&D, well say you use a fire one and shoot it at an enemy and it misses and hits a tree. Well now the processor would calcuate how that tree will burn, if it will affect nearby trees, etc. I would think something like that might be put in, but only so that it will affect one tree since if they did not then one arrow or dragon breath could burn an entire forest out of control. And my list goes on. Say you are on a horse, and you see a group of goblins near by. Well you can use that charge ability, but it will actually be cool. The force of a speeding horse hitting itty bitty goblins would send them flying and most likely to their deaths. So basically anything that uses some sort of math in real life the games can now do in a much more realistic way. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Due to the game being 3d the angle in the game will be much different then what there is now. Where before you had different levels you could scroll in or out to the new view will be free roaming. This means that while the view might look like it does now you can scroll all around your character, up, down, etc however you want it to look. Not sure how far out they will let you scroll or how far in, but typically in games like that you cna scroll in closer then you could in Sacred 1, and about the same distance away, although I would think they would allow us to go more for 2.

Is there any idea yet on the processor and the amount of ram it will need? Those of us with older computers are starting to sweat!

Not yet, but like I said or think I said, it will be rather high because of the total 3d environment. The detail level reminds me of something like the Spellforce 2 game I want and that needed. So a possible idea is you will need a 3d card with atleast 128 megs, 1.6ghz cpu, although something more along the lines of 2.0 and above would be recommeneded, 512 ram, but probably 1 gig would be far better. Spellforce 2 ran somewhat slow on my computer so if sacred 2 is anywhere near it ill probably need to upgrade. For most people though they should be fine with just upgrading their graphics cards if the game runs slow. Although if sacred 1 runs slow for you then you might need other things too. But keep in mind these are only my ideas on its needs.

You might be, the game does that to me too and I am well above the needs for the original, so I think it might be more along the lines of the programing have a fault somewhere.

There is a wallpaper floating around that is of the seraphim, only problem is that you have to pay to get it. If anybody finds it for free let us know. In the mean time here is a preview of the image, I just made it smaller so the detail would come out. You can download a preview for it that is large, but it is really fuzzy so I figured this is better. And if anybody likes that image I resized it for an avatar. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Finally some new info, this time in the form of 4 screenshots that we can actually see, just click on the images to make them larger. This is of the new sera fighting what looks like some undead and a goblin. This is the gladiator in a cave going against some sort of big undead creature. Here is the sera again with a huge rat. And finally a close up of the glad. It looks like the game will have some pretty good lighting effects as well as details as you can see on the close up of the gladiator. So start saving now for a new videocard. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-
