I have to say that my favorites are the Full Persian Dragon Scale and the European 4-1 . Can you tell both are flat and have some width to them, I have been looking for striking wide braclets that can be made to fit a small wrist since mine are only 5 1/4 inches.

Yeah the Full Persian Dragonscale is a pain in the butt LOL which is why I never finished the one that I believe you are referring to. Normally what happens is you do a flat center piece, then you add the sides to that and finish by folding the sides into the center and connecting them by one last row of rings. I have a complete one that hasn't left my wrist in 4 years, it is one of my favorites As for the 4-1, you picked the most basic maille there is. It is one of the most common designs for full body armor specifically for the reason that it lays so flat but is also very flexible. The great thing about that is that you can make it as wide as you want, which you can't do with a lot of the other designs. I have very dainty wrists as well and I made one so wide once it almost looked like a full gauntlet. It is also great because just by adding some colored rings in you can make it as decorative as you want and in a number of patterns. I totally hear yah when it comes to the lack of funds though... I am so in that boat at the moment myself. There is this one thing I can't wait to be finished so I can post it... well an also cause I can't wait to have them. Quite some time ago my husband (who also does the chainmail) create a one inch sample of a very small Full Persian Dragonscale... it was in small 20 gauge rings. He did it just to get an idea of how it would look as a more delicate weave but he finished off the ends so it would lay better in the sample. Then it struck me... they would make GORGEOUS earings! Of course though he didn't have enough rings to make a second just like it LOL. But we just haven't had the spare cash to make the full order we want of various rings sizes and types so haven't gotten more yet.

I definately like the idea of flat. As for width I was thinking along the lines of an inch to inch and a half. If I was to add some color it would be along the lines of orange, green, purple as these happen to be my favorites and look good on me to boot LOL.
I get tips at work so maybe I can save up enough for a few items from you cause I know my 15 yr old would absolutely love something once I show the pictures to her next week.

Well just let me know and once you have an idea of what you want and the length/width depending on weave I can quote you a price Also I can do more than what I have pictures of here. I haven't found a pattern yet that I can't do so if you find any you like at M.A.I.L. I would be happy to attempt it. I always like a new challenge
