Anybody like the original scores composed for movies? If so which movies have music you like? I am talking about the music that is all instrumental and not ones done by bands with singers who make songs for a particular movie. I like the following soundtracks in no particular order.....
The Rock Star Wars Independance Day Gladiator Lord Of The Rings The Matrix Starship Troopers
cant think of any more but I know there is more I like.

Hello.
The only score I've ever been so completely floored by that I went out and bought it was Conan the Barbarian. Basil Poledouris is an amazing composer, but I think that was his masterpiece. There have been many others that deeply impressed me (yes, Star Wars by John Williams is fantastic), but that one was by far the best.

I like the soundtracks from the Conan movies as well, and also Red Sonja, but I do not know if he made the music for that one as well.

All three Lord of the Rings movies had some beautiful music.
I have only purchased one movie score thus far and it is Star Trek: Generations.

My favorite movie scores are from Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Both were composed by Tan Dan with Yo-Yo Ma playing cello in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Another one of my favorites was compose by Shigeru Umebayashi for House of Flying Daggers. The music in all of these movies is hauntingly beautiful.
