So, I got a copy of Titans Quest for $20 Canadian + tax (coincidentally, at current exchange, that comes to about $20 US after tax)
The first thing I noticed was the 5-stat model (Str, Dex, Int, Health, Energy) and the fact hat everything seemed a bit choppy, even at 800x600 and all details at low. This was a pretty clear signal that I should replace my GeForce 5700 (I have a 7600 I got cheap, I'm just to lazy to spend 10 minutes opening my case and swapping the cards)
Anyways, Titans Quest
The biggest plus as far as I am concerned is the 2-class model. Right now, I am playing a dual-dagger Assassin (which is a Warrior+Rogue combo). I don't think it quite holds a candle to Sacred, but it's still interesting.
Anyone else tried it yet?

I was wondering too if it had online playability as well, It looked really cool but now that I have been converted to MP, I don't want to go back to single play

So I've been spending what would be my Sacred time on TQ and so far I'm getting a handle on the basics. Classes (1 gained at level 2, 1 gained at level 8) Defense - Defensive/Resistance bonuses, Shield techniques Earth - Fire/stone based magic Hunting - Damage bonuses for Spears (Melee) and Bows (Ranged) Nature - Healing/Summoning magic Rogue - Poison/Bleeding damage bonuses Spirit - "Death" Magic (Life Drain, etc) Storm - Ice/Lightning magic Warfare - Melee Fighting (Damage Bonuses, Techniques, etc) Attributes Health - Raw Hitpoints. Enough said. Energy - Mana Strength - Affects Melee damage (can't confirm if it gives health regen) Dexterity - Affects piercing damage, chance to hit, chance to dodge Intelligence - affects Energy regeneration rate and eemental damage Right now, I have abandoned my Assassin in favour of a Hunter and am trying to decide how to multiclass. If I go defence, I gain extra hitpoints and resistances If I go nature, I can summon wolves and nymph archers to assist me, and also have some heavy healing magic my bet is, defence is better for solo play, whereas nature is better for team play there are some details on classes and skills here www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/928126.htmlOh, and there is no stash. You carry everything on your person. And you can't quite carry as much as Sacred. However, you can, anytime you wish, open a portal back to town.

Oh and I looked up your MP question Ari... this is what Wiki had to say: Multiplayer Multiplayer allows up to 6 or 7 players in a game at one time. The game does not have a direct ip feature that most games of this type have. The only way to play the game with other people is to use the LAN feature or their Internet game pairing system. The information below is referring to a system that allows gamers to connect their computers together to create a virtual LAN. Although Multiplayer internet play has been inactive, many active Titan Quest players use Hamachi to play LAN games by connecting to a private network with their existing internet connections. * Existing Hamachi Servers for Titan Quest (mostly version 1.20) * Hamachi Servers for users with Titan Quest version 1.15 * Hamachi Main Site with free download The list of LAN things are supposed to be links.. if you want more info. by clicking on them here is the Wiki link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_Quest#Multiplayer

That's the biggest downside I've seen yet. I hadn't even tried MP yet (still getting my feet wet in SP ;D)

Ah Thank you!, I had asked in the store that had it and they didnt know and even went to their own forums and read everything. Other people had asked the same question but no answer as well. heheh I didn't even think to Wiki it. That is a shame though, It looked so cool, Zero, Its so much more fun to play with others versus alone, It really is. You just have to find the right people and you already have that step done!

The more I play, the more I appreciate this game.
I started a Hunter character with the intention of adding Nature later. The idea was, if I have the bow skills from Hunter, and the healing/summoning from Nature, to build some sort of ranger build.
Well, then I got thinking about alternatives.
If I mixed Hunter and Storm, I would be able to summon up squalls to blind enemy archers/mages while I pick them off.
If I mixed Hunter and Rogue, I would get poison/bleeding damage for my arrows (with a slowing effect in the poison).
If I mixed Hunter and Warfare, I could get spear speed and damage bonus from Hunter, and melee damage bonus and extra strikes by dual-wielding spears from Warfare.
So I'm actually warming up to this game. It definitely has more potential builds than Sacred does (sorry, but it does appear to be true). With 2-3 skill branch possibilities per class, and the ability to mix 2 classes, there are plenty of ways to go. My biggest problem at the moment is being a bit overwhelmed by these choices and not being able to decide how to build my character.
Nature still has the strongest pull, though. I would get healing spells the most summons of any class good buffs (maxed out, I can get +96% health from one, and it applies to summons/allies) and plague (the only offensive spell in Nature, which can be upgraded to do several things including spread among enemy creatures and slow speeds).

Don't know if anyone is still paying attention to this thread or not, but I got around to trying out the multipayer (after I patched for compatibility, naturally).
It seemed to be set up like most multiplayer interfaces. You hit the 'search for servers' button when you want to join, and you get a nice little list of servers. The details panel for each server even tells you what users are in the game, how long they've been playing, and the recommended level for any characters joining.
So it seems at least MP in Titans Quest should run okay, I just need to level up a character to the point where I'm on par with everyone else. Sacred chars level up faster than TQ chars.
I'll try to experience MP at some point and let you all know. I know at least Ari was curious as to how the MP aspects work.
Well, it's 3:30am for me, and I gotta be up by 9, so I'm off to bed.

 I like TQ as well. I just got the original+expansion a month or two ago. Reminds me of Dungeon Siege. I really like the linear form of adventure map. I never really enjoyed having to run back and forth to all four corners of a ginormous world map.
It seems a bit biased towards spell-caster classes and click-heavy at times. I tried playing Warfare/Defense first time and the melee classes seem underpowered. I really wish they could have created a melee class that had more passive skills so that most of the time all you really need to do it click your weapon attack.
If you ever find a "spell" class that isn't clicking 20 times per second on 10 diferrent skills, let me know. Have fun!

For melee, you may want to try a Slayer (Warfare + Hunting) dual-wielding two spears. It's a devastating combo. You get to apply all the melee bonuses from warfare to both spears, plus you get all the piercing/movement/attack speed/dodge attack bonuses from Hunting. The biggest downside is that this build tends to lack in defence and can be rough to get going (yu may have to put points in life). But this is the game's brute/barbarian equivalent.
As for magic, I don't really use the magic much, myself (not for attacks, anyway). Right now, I have a Ranger (Hunting + Nature) which I find to be lots of fun. You get all the power of being an archer and picking enemies off at a distance, combined with Nature, where you get wolves and a nymph to summon (the nymph benefits from the archer power-ups, too). You also get a spell that, when maxed out, adds an extra 96% to your life and all your allies. This allows me to summon a nice little army for myself, with the wolves taking the hits while the nymph and I pick off enemies with a bow. Nature also provides the best dexterity bonus of all magic classes, giving your bow that extra edge.
What I love about this game is that you can take pretty much any two classes and find some way to build them into a good character. There is a lot of compatibility between skills. I haven't had tis much fun dreaming up builds since NeverWinter Nights.

I would encourage anyone who is thinking about it to get TQ, I finished the main game and am now playing the expansion pack, TQ Imortal Throne which set in the underworld and is a little darker than TQ.
