Just found out about an RPG that looks pretty interesting that comes out in the us in Feb. It is called Silverfall and is supposed to be a Diablo/Sacred style game meaning you click lots and kills things fast instead of a story driven game like Neverwinter Nights 2. Here is the site... www.silverfall-game.com/

As long as it is not as horribly addicting as Sacred was then it looks like it will be a good game to hold people over until S2 in Oct. Watch the trailer for it if you did not since it gives a better impression of the game then the pictures.

So I download the demo for the game since Ari’laftia informed me there was one. So far it is a fun game. I do not really know what I am doing yet since the demo does not explain much, but so far I have played to level 8, the highest level I have skills and whatnot I can choose are 25. I am not sure when the demo ends either since I have been able to travel pretty far. It looks like you can have two companions travel with you and right now I only have one, but it is very helpful since the one with me heals me and I am tending to loose life really fast. When you die it is kind of interesting what the game does. Instead of loosing exp or something you just drop the items you had equipped at the time and a grave stone appears where you died. If you want your items back, which you likely will, you have to travel back to the spot you died and click the grave to get them back. Any enemies that killed you will still be there though, so it can be hard to get your stuff back. If you do not want to loose your items though you can pay a goblin for life insurance. It only works for one death though, but what it does is makes it so you keep all your items. When you die you appear back at the goblin and can choose to buy the insurance again, but it gets more and more costly each time. The game seems a little nonresponsive to me sometimes in the controls and it can be hard to hit an enemy since you have to click and hold the enemy you want to hit and you can not just move to another one like in Sacred, so I keep finding myself sitting there not doing anything. The graphics are good for the backgrounds, although I think the characters look a little weird. The best way I can describe them is cartoonish kind of like that A Scanner Darkly movie. If anybody wants to try it out the demo can be gotten at gamespot, but you have to sign up for an account to get it, but it is free for one. Its a 1.4 gig download, so it can take a while, especially since the free accounts have downloading speed caps, so I think it took me like 12 hours to get it at 30k a sec or something like that.

That's how World of Warcraft is played as well, for anyone who wants to know. The skills sound a bit different, but the death bit and the way the game looks and attacks sounds a lot like WoW...

Hello. Anyone have a definite date for the release? I've found 3 different dates, and the earliest is 3/20. Just want to know when to head out to my favorite little shoppe.

I tired to look at the official site and all I could find is that the game went gold on Feb 14th and says it is on track for its March release. So if the only date you have for March is the 20th then that is probably the best bet.

I just got an email a few minutes ago saying the game is available to download, so I would think that also means you can goto a store and buy it.

I'm nearing the end of the Silverfall campaign, and will be going into the Earth Awakening expansion. This game reminds me a lot of Dungeon Siege without the silly 'beat the rush' for handling mobs. You can choose Nature or Technology, with both having its advantages/disadvantages. I'd recommend Silverfall+EA if there are any interested in this game.

I completed the Earth Awakening expansion for Silverfall today, and made my own minor walkthru with some help.
