Well Nintendo announced the new name for their next console which has been called Revolution till now as a code name, it now Wii, and you say it like "We". Kind of an odd name, not to sure if I like it since I liked the code name much more, but that has happened a lot before, the Nintendo 64 had the code name of Ultra 64, the current AMD processors once had the name of Clawhammer, Windows Vista was Longhorn. Companies should just use their code names for a while, they sound much cooler.

Most tend to at least come up with a decent sounding name for the release. Wii is just kind of... wtf?

I just read some info from E3 and Nintendo is going to have a non weird controller that looks to me like the SNES controller with analog things, so atleast that is good news.

I have seen the controller you speak of, it does look much like the SNES controller but with added shoulder buttons and analog sticks.
