So in talking with Magikltrevr about videogames I starting wanting to play old games. One of my fondest memories of old games was back in elementary school with the Apple ][ computers. I remember going to the computer lab and everybody trying to kill one another to get one of the two computers that had a color screen and not just the green ones. So in honor of the old Apple games I give you this site..... www.virtualapple.org/You can play many of the old games over the net for free. It is kind of funny to think of how it used to take an entire computer to play those games when now we can just stream them like that. Someday people will be playing PS2 games in the same way. Anyway you all should go and play Oregon Trail since it is one of the coolest games ever invented. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

Wow, I remember playing Oregon Trail back in elementary school. Had lots of fun with it, although I didn't get to play much.

Well now you can play it all the time. Did you have it on the same old Apple ][ computers the site emmulates, or something newer?

I don't remember what computers the school had, I just remember green screens and shooting things that looked kind of like animals.

Green screens would tend to be the old Apple ][ computers then. or maybe some sort of early Macintosh, but I doubt elementary schools would have enough money to use newer computers. I think some still use the old Apples since the programs do what they need.

Yes, lots of places tend to be lazy in getting new technology, especially when what they have is all they really need. I know of a company around here that runs their entire network on some 20 year old computers, they have just never had to update because nothing has changed.

Well I guess if it isnt broke dont fix it applies, but then again if something breaks on an old network or system you can get in on Ebay for a buck, which is cheaper then new stuff.

my first PC had a Hercules Monochrome monitor (green screen), a 10 MB Hard Drive that I had to wiggle with my finger to get it to boot, and a nice IBM XT case.
I can't remember the ex girlfriends or their names, but i do remember that computer.
I would play Conquest and Bards tale on that computer.
good times
~le sigh~
