Because I like to start top 10 threads.....
Just list them, what system they are for, and if you want, your reasoning
.Tetris, On anything and everything that has a screen and a button. This is my favorite ever because I can always come back it no matter where I am or what I am doing, the games can be short, and its the game I have been playing consistently for the longest.
.Total Annihilation, PC. I just love this game since I started playing it in 1997. No RTS game has as many units available to me and I just love making huge units and having huge battles. The game is just made to be huge, although its spiritual sucessor, Supreme Commander, might even be better.
.Baldurs Gate series, PC. I gave up about 2 years of my life to play through this series only once because it is such a huge game with so much to do. It got me into RPG games and I have never played another game that got me into the story so much and even caring for my characters.
.Super Metriod, SNES. I still load this game up on my computer emulator from time to time. When it came out I was so amazed to hear actual clear speech being done since back in its time it was very rare.
.Sacred, PC. It passed many many hours of my time when I was in Iraq and is the only game to get me actively involved in its community.
.Sid Meirs, Pirates!, Mac and PC. I first played this game on an old Mac in the mid 90s and a newer version came out in 2004 and this is the only pirate themed game that I find fun to play and since I love pirates in general it helps the game out.
.Super Street Figher II Turbo, 3DO. This is the game I love and hate at the same time. Fighting games have not been my choice of games for a while but I will always love this one since it was the first appearance of my favorite character, Akuma, and is also the game that managed to always get me very very mad at it because I had such a hard time beating said favorite character to the point where I would fight him till I got blisters on my thumbs.
.Super Mario Brothers 3, NES. Still my favorite out of all the Mario games. I just love that little racoon tail.
.Oregon Trail, Apple II. If you are around my age then tell me you did not love this game in elementary school and rushed to the computer lab to get the color monitor instead of a green screen.
.Final Fantasy VII, PS1. This was the first console style RPG that I played and is the only other game that has gotten me to feel for the characters. I can still remember that my heart jumped when Aeris kissed my main character and feeling sad when Sephiroth killed her...
