Hello All, I am a middle aged Dad that recv'd the Sacred Gold set from one of my sons. I want to learn how to play the game FAIRLY and INTELLIGENTLY. I ask about Soft vs Hardcore games. Open vs Closed. How can one best learn to use the resources available in a way that improves the gameplay for all involved? How do I build a character that is well balanced? I have started 3 characters at home,,, a Daemon,,, a Dwarf and a Dark Elf. I will gratefully accept advice and or help from all players. I will mostly be online in the early hours EST. I will not waste your time and/or beg for freebies. I WANT TO LEARN!

#welcome# to my forum! Glad to have you aboard To answer your first question.... Hardcore: this is for a very patient person... if you die EVER your character will restart at lvl 1... so it is for (in my opinion) an experienced player that is looking for a new challenge Softcore: This would be your normal style of playing... if you die you just restart your last saved game... or in Multiplayer you just get sent back to the starting island and have to make your way back to where you had been. Other than death these options are pretty much the same Open: This is what kind of host you play on.... in open you game files still get saved to your computer so you are able to alter the files in order to cheat... this is mostly the type of player that goes here... cheaters who want to make weapons or other gear with crazy attributes or alter the lvl of their characters without earning it.... Closed: This kind of game is saved on a server so there is no way to cheat. You also won't lose any game info if your computer crashes since YOUR computer isn't saving anything I would start off looking in the General Gameplay section of this forum if you want to learn the basics.... other than that just browse through the info. and ask as many questions as you like as you think of them.... we are here to help Hope you enjoy the forum and the game!
