Hello.
Any one else DYING for the new season of (insert tv show here) to start? You know, you've watched every episode with rabid, almost religious enthusiasm. You wailed and beat your fists against walls while holidays interrupted the show. You cursed the network for the obligatory mid-season breaks. You gritted your teeth through every insult to your love of YOUR show. You even managed the super-human task of not putting your foot through the tv.
Now you're waiting.
Waiting, waiting, waiting for the new season to start.
If you're lucky, you only have 6 months or less till your show begins new episodes. If you're unlucky, you can wait as long as 9 or 10 months in some cases.
So what's your show? My show is the new Battlestar Galactica. After failing to impress me with the beginning, the show has since shocked and delighted me with It's power. I can't think of anything made for non-pay tv that has been this good, and I'm old enough to have a lot of shows to compare It with.
So now I'm waiting for (groan) October. I think October, anyway. When I first found out how long I was going to have to wait I kind of pushed it out of my mind purely as a defensive measure. But it still wiggles back in, like vermin invading your nice clean house, like a mosquito determined to ruin your evening walk, like a child poking you and saying "hey, hey, hey, Hey, HEY!", like a rat chewing on your brain. It does, and doesn't help, that I still can watch re-runs one day a week(if I'm lucky and they don't preempt it for holiday programming or whatever).
So, anyway, do you have a show? Have you ever?
One request: If you are currently experiencing the loathsome state of gratification that comes with the resumption of your show, PLEASE do not post here. If you do, I am going on record as asking the Staff to see that the inconsiderate offender(s) are flayed, dumped in alcohol, and sent to Detroit(sorry anyone who likes Detroit, it's a movie referrence) .
