Ohmigod!!! Yeah I know I think I am the only Harry Potter freak on the forum... but still!! We went to see this last night... which just seeing any movie in the theater is a huge treat the last one we got to see was a year ago when the last HP movie came out! Between getting a babysitter and spending $40 (if we want any soda or popcorn) we just don't get to do it that often. But it was sooo worth it! The movie was amazing! Also they FINALLY showed the Kestrals which were done very very well! I am still so hyped up over it! I don't want to give too much away though in case any of you are planning on watching it!
Another awesome thing was that they somehow screwed up the movies earlier in the evening so they started the movie about 10 minutes late (which I totally understood, stuff happens sometimes) and so they gave us two free passes to come back and see another movie as an apology! Its like christmas haha!
Also I picked up my copy of the 7th and LAST book yesterday as well. I just need to finish re-reading one more of the previous books and I'll then be spending all day with it over the next few days haha. I am sooo excited its crazy!

The movie was great cinema-wise but I was kinda disappointed with it since I read the book first. There were a lot of important details that were not in the movie so it somewhat shattered my pristine perception of what was to be. Overall I think it was well made, just that the story didn't match up.
I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

Yeah well movies that are based on books ALWAYS do that so I try not to get to disappointed about it... although I do totally agree with you

Well one exception to my account is the Lord of the Rings series. It wasn't totally faithful to the contents of the book especially with Arwen but it turned out somewhat in par with the book's appeal if not more. If a movie can deliver that much imagination and presentation then perhaps I could, but maybe Harry Potter is so fresh in my imagination library that I had high expectation. Of course when I was reading LoTR in it's original text, I didn't think anybody would make a movie out of it as great as Peter Jackson did. I was 8 so my visual effects idols were of Star Wars LOL
