Me too! What fun that would be! Did you see last week's? I wanna go!!!! There is a group of paranormal investigators around here that I want to check out. Would be so much fun. Not too sure I'd want to be on TV though.

I'd like to put my two cents in this one though I hope I will not offend anyone. I'm saying this in a very nice and polite manner: it's not funny. I don't like seeing them, I shouldn't have asked for it, and it was stupid to get this gift. Up to now I still believe that there are no genuine mediums out there in the media. If they really were true links of the other realm, they will know first hand that it's not an experience they would like to go over again and again. Unless it gets them off. I'll fork to the adult pages if anybody would like to discuss this further because I might say something sensitive and the general public may not fully accept it I know I don't.

So im confused Deon, are you saying you have the abilty to sense/see ghosts then and because of how that affects you that you do not believe any of the shows are real in any way?

I wouldn't call it an ability, it's more of something that has plagued me since I was 8. But to answer you, and technically, yes I do. I mean if they went through something as horrific as I did, they won't have a blast trying to broadcast it let alone tell the generally skeptic world. I know that 99% of the time, people will not believe me and I will even understand if you guys don't. But for me, I went through hell trying to rid myself of it. And though I did not completely get over it, blurring the radar is not an easy process. Real mediums will never go to TV shows to be exploited, it's an ugly experience and I don't think anybody would like to endure it, especially infront of a TV camera.

Just so everyone understands, this show has nothing to do with mediums. These are people who investigate places using EM meters, video recorders, voice recorders, etc. to try to prove or disprove the existance of paranormal activity. Nothing more... No mediums, no psychics...

Wanna hear something I thought was kinda funny? My psychotherapist believes in your "gift" Deon. He says he has two patients at the moment that can see/communicate with spirits. He thought I might have the gift but that my mind was just messing up the signals cause of my fears or whatever. Ummm yeah okay that is going to need an explanation...
So like I say all the time I am a TOTAL wimp. I'm scared of the dark and everything. But it is strange cause I can watch all kinds of horror movies and its not a big deal I see it for what it is... not real. But once in a while there will be a certain character from a horror movie that just creeps me out sooo badly that it stays with me. For instance... the little boy from The Grudge (yah know the one that meows?), the chick from The Ring (the way she moved when crawling out of the TV just really got me) and also one of the three hillbillies from Wrong Turn (they all had bad birth defects). So anyway I am sooo scared of these certain characters that when I am in a situation that I feel vulnerable, like outside at night or in the shower I start to get really scared and my heart starts beating really fast and I can picture sooo perfectly one of these characters coming up behind me. It is sooo vivid that although I logically know that they don't exist and so therefore COULDN'T be behind me I just HAVE to check anyway. This makes washing my face in the shower VERY difficult. But anyway I brought this up to my therapist cause I was worried about paranoid schizophrenia which my uncle has.... He said that I would have other symptoms so I am safe on that regard. But he is toying with the idea that maybe I am sensitive to spirits and I feel something there but can't put a face or name to it so my fear of what I feel turns it into something that I KNOW that scares me. I kinda don't think thats it, but whatever. I just thought it was really interesting that a psychotherapist believes in spirits and the paranormal.

See I just wish I knew one way or the other!! If I was sensing something then maybe I could do something to relieve it or at least make it less scary for me. But on the other hand if it is some sort of mental issue I could find some drug to stop it!! Arghhh! Now don't get me wrong... I am not a big fan of drugs, most of the time I won't take an Advil for a headache unless it is REALLY bad. But this is just ridiculous sometimes. I haven't even told you all about when I drive at night!!!

That's an interesting theory your therapist has Wolfe. I used to have sort of the same thing happen to me when I was younger. Showers were nearly impossible. There were no dolls in my home. Anyway, so what happens when you drive at night?

Ohhh okay..... Has anyone seen the movie called Campfire Tales? It is like Tales from the Crypt and other such similar things. You know with a lot of short horror stories.... Well there was this one story in the movie called Hitchhiker..... It starts off with this woman waking up and rushing out of her lover's house because she's late getting home to her husband and then she gets on the highway and it is raining hard. She of course is speeding trying to get home as quick as she can so she won't be found out and she accidentally ran over a hitchhiker. She still is freaking out about getting home though so she just leaves him there and keeps going. Then a few miles later she sees him standing by the road again, this repeats a few times and each time she hears him say "thanks for the ride lady" in this really creepy gravely voice. Then he jumps on the hood of her car and when she swerves her car runs off the road and down a hill full of trees. She finally stops by hitting a huge tree and he is stuck between her car and the tree and finally appears to be totally dead and so she passes out. A while later she wakes up and there isn't any sign of him so she thinks it was all some crazy dream from getting in a car accident. Somehow she gets her car free and drives home and into her garage (actually beating her husband home). When she steps out of the car you see the hitchhikers hand reach out from under the car and grab her and she screams. The next thing you see is her husband coming home and seeing her dead sitting in her drivers seat and holding a sign that says "thanks for the ride lady". So anyway this totally creeped me out... I think the worst part was his voice and that he just kept saying "thanks for the ride lady" over and over and over. So anyway a while after watching this with Alucard I was still kinda freaked when driving after dark and I was going to go to his house after dark. Just as we were getting off the phone and I was about to leave he perfectly imitates the "thanks for the ride lady" and hangs up the phone. He is such a trouble maker and see I knew it back when we were dating too!! So anyway I ended up driving 90 the whole way on the highway to his house (the speed limit is 55) and I whip into his driveway and jam the car into park and jump out with the engine still running and leaving the car door wide open I bolt for the house. He had to go properly park the car for me. So now ever since, this was about 7 years ago maybe 8, I keep imagining something reaching out from under the car and grabbing me on my way in or out of the car so I always kinda leap in so my feet are never really close to the edge. Then when I get in the car I am constantly checking the rearview mirror to make sure nothing is in my backseat (just in case) and sometimes have had to turn around to check since the rearview just wasn't enough. This is a really dangerous thing to do while driving trust me! Sometimes I get so freaked out that I drive with the interior light on.... also not very safe. And I always speed so I can get out of the car quicker. It just sucks so I avoid going out after dark alone like its the plague!

Your therapist could be right Wolfe. Sounds plausible. Does he or she do past life regressions, too? Just curious. Just so you know you're not the only one, I used to check under, in and around my car with a flashlight before I'd get in it at night... when I absolutely had to go somewhere.
