What troubles me on this too.. I always thought Eukanuba and Iams were top of the line type foods, When I first heard about the recall I thought to myself Well Thats why I don't buy the generic brands, they aren't as regulated... so I thought... I wanna see heads roll

Well see that is the problem with products. If you goto the links I gave for the notice on all this you can see just how many brands are all under this one company. They range from the ones we think of as being high end to a low end local mom and pop store brand. Most companies out there now do not make only one product since they need to compete. With this situation it would seem that most of the companies out there who sell pet food do not even make it themselves, they only take care of distributing it and putting there brand label on it. Originally I would have thought that the food going into the cans is radically different, but now with all of this seeing so many brands get effected it tells me that all the stuff in the cans is identicle. We are basically just paying for the brand is all since Iams brand sounds better then Jimmy Joes Discount Cat Feed. Now I am sure there still has to be some differentiation among the products, but somewhere there would need to be a common base to all these brands for them to all get affected, or this was a huge opperation where like 30 people each individually put the poison into the food there section works on.

I am sure they will and it will suck too since all the brands that were affected there will suffer from sales from this. I do not blaim the brands in general, but that one manufacturing plant. LIke they should shut that one down until all the legal stuff is taken care of, or maybe close it down permantly since with it being in Canada I assume we can not enforce any US regulations on it so even if something is found it could happen again.
