I am beginning to hate going to he offical forum now. It used to be that I would go every day and probably learn something new. But in the past month now all it is is about 5 questions asked over and over again. Nobody seems to know what a search button is. They should ban people now for asking what the island is, how to get through the gate, etc. If we get all the info back up here soon I want to make a post that will have like 50 links to all the info here and hope it gets stickied. I doubt it would help much though since people still dont seem to search. The Sacred 2 area has also got annoying since people arent posting there and those who do think it is for uw. There is also people who will just randomly ask something totally off topic in a thread since they figure they will get a answer faster that way because it is a thread people are actually talking in. I hope all these new players tire of the game and dont play 2 when it comes out, or if they do then by then they can do something that is actually of worth.

Wow! I so agree with that... and it has been pissing me off for a while too! I even wrote a post once called All New Members Come Here or something like that and it was a rant about using the search button, it was very polite though, and I asked it to be sticked but they said they wouldn't since searching is also in the rules. Like ANYONE reads the rules! #mad# There are maybe 1 in 10 people who actually read the rules when they join a forum, like they think the rules are below them or don't count for them!! Jeez that makes me so angry! Maybe people shouldn't be banned for re-asking questions, but I think all threads that are an already answered question or a post that people are asking a question in someones else's post and it's off topic should automatically be closed or deleted with a note saying why. If that happens enough people will learn that they can't get away with being lazy and they will HAVE to search for an answer. #scowl#
Oh BTW, Llama did a really good thread the other day that actually linked our site quite a few times. It is a long post with links to all kinds of most often asked questions and it has been sticked. #thumbsup#

Yeah I think I read that post he did. I like the idea of just closing a post if people do things like that. One thing though is that by them reasking things they are technically not being lazy. It is alot more work to make a new thread explaining their problem and to wait maybe days for a answer when they could just do a search. I am wondering if alot of the people who are asking are those who download a 216 char and goto uw right away so they dont know what names to call things. Like if they have gotten to the gate and it isnt open, they should know more about it then just a gate with spikes like I read today. They should know atleast where it is.

Yeah you could be right... some of it is laziness though. Sometimes you can enter a search and the first post you reach has the info you need but other times you have to look through multiple posts to get the answer because your search words came up in tons of posts that maybe don't answer what you need.

Yeah they might need to read a few but they will probably find something to help them in the others as well. I know I would search for something and when looking through the results I would find other things of interest and end up forgetting what I was looking for in the first place.

People are still getting used to the idea of forums. And, like I posted on Clan DA, the price of Sacred has plummetted. That means that people who wouldn't think of it when it was $39.99 will now buy it when it is $9.99 (actual price of Sacred UW expansion). With the lower price comes the after market of people who want to step into a game where all the answers are readily available. If they can get someone else to do their work, their happy. And some of our brightest lights are gone: gogoblender, Stalky, AlexFrog, DaGirl, Jonnyx, on and on the list just keeps going. It can kinda make you sad if you dwell on it. Now, for the positive side: Speaking of work. Great site Night Wolfe. Wow. I'm very favourably impressed!!!

Thanks frostelfguard! I try my best to keep it as easy to read as I can with as much info. as I can think of.... Gogo actually popped in here a few days ago... nice to see him again. And at least we still have Llama on the official forum... in fact he did what AREA was talking about and did his Llamalicious thread with tons of links to commonly asked questions.... he also linked like 10 of my tutorials in it too. I think that is where a bunch of our members came from. I also try to go there semi-regularly and answer questions and link people here. I hope if enough people see threads linking here, where they can get the answers in an easy to find way, than they might finally stop repeating questions so much there.

I think that's how I found this site too. But like I said before back then I only had Sacred so the whole PLUS patch I missed out because of work. Then I re-established my playing habits once I settled down. I miss my former MP characters

Someone actually asked where to find a glorb today...
:::sigh:::
Do they even read the names of the enemies that they kill?
There are only about 50 standing around where you actually get that quest.
Do I have a low stupidity tolerance, or is that just plain dumb?

No, you don't have a low stupidity tolerance. I can't believe someone was dumb enough to ask how to find a glorb. Geez #argh#

Well atleast it's not insulting dumbness. Think of it this way. Somewhere in this world we are actually dumb about something that we are supposed to know when we get there. I think atleast you guys never had to deal with that People often look at me at the oddest way when I ask something that they think I should know just because I am an "Americanized" Asian. But the fact of the matter is, despite growing here for some years of my life, it's still not my culture, and there are really things I don't know. I remember the first time I asked what was Thanksgiving, all I had was a roaring crowd. I don't think it's intolerance to dumb people it's just I think frustration for the lack of effort on their part. OR maybe it really is dumb. But the fact that you still answered it one way or the other is an act that means you still wanted break his ignorance Which in all moral aspect is still generosity. But yes I hate stupid more than dumb I think I dunno which I am #roflmao#

I'm really not trying to get high and mighty or point at particular people and say "that was a dumb thing to ask", but...
uh... Where can I find a glorb, and they are literally knocking you down in the area where you are supposed to find them....
I actually thought that was kind of funny, in a way. How far in the game is this individual going to get if they can't even figure out that much?
Oh well.
There are *lots* of things that I do not know, so I guess I shouldn't be so snarky.
LOL.
God knows I've had plenty of blond moments in my lifetime...LOL

I have to disagree Deon..... there is a HUGE HUGE difference between not knowing certain details of a culture you weren't born in and not being able to just READ what is right infront of your DAMN FACE on your computer screen!!!
I would agree that that was a truly DUMB question and it was also lazy as hell!! If they had spent only 5 minutes (or more like 30 sec) just looking for a glorb before asking they wouldn't have had a problem finding them. #dunce#

Well every rock has a reason, so I guess theirs was just plain dumb. And that must have been a "duh?" moment for them We can't help it there really ARE some people that are like that. But we are in the information and enlightening business (well kinda like shobiz) so we can't really pick who we share information with Which makes me wonder boss, you think we should make a Monsters Section in this Forum? Because someday someone might finish the Underworld campaign and start a topic "Help I can't find Anducar!"

Yeah that would be really cool.... but a huge undertaking.... so I found this area at Sacred Junkies a while back and had created a thread called enemies in general gameplay that links to it, since they did a great job already. It might be nice to have them all listed here though.... if we can get enough screenshots of the different types.
