Well, for me it will be the usual... family, family and more family! Thanksgiving at Mom's, Christmas Eve at Mom's, Christmas Day at aunt's. No plans for New Year's Eve yet. Maybe I'll join you on the rail road tracks... buttered jelly beans sound great!

For thanksgiving I'm going to cook a honey-herb turkey with aged marinading sauce, rather than the traditional turkey. I've been flirting with that recipe for quite sometime now only got it perfected this weekend. Tastes like lemon chicken from any Chinese restaurant (or Orange Chicken from Panda Express) without the coating. Flavor comes from inside out mixed with herbs to make it a bit spicy sweet.
For Christmas I am going to make a big lantern. It's called a "Parol" from where I grew up, you can all Wikipedia that one for more information. Then I am going to put up our Christmas tree. My tree this year is relatively smaller (7 feet) compared to my former (9 feet) but unlike its predecessor it's White and yeah it's plastic LOL. So I am going with a winter theme this Christmas because we do not have friggin snow. Then I'm going to slave over 12 dishes as there will be a big reunion this year of my clan. I actually received 15 requests but 12 is enough already! LOL. Yes they will be mostly Asian-Filipino cuisines:
1. Spring Roll or Lumpiang Shanghai eastern mix 2. Morcon (beef roll with egg, hotdog, chorizo de bilbao, bell peppers) 3. Beef with 7-up (My personal creation) 4. Pancit Canton or thick-noodle Chow Mein 5. Puto or rice cakes 5. Sotanghon 6. Filipino sweet BBQ 7. Ube (sweet yam violet pudding) 8. Leche Flan 9. Lanzones fruit bouquet (technically this is not something I will cook just peel and arrange... think griff will like this) 10. Roast beef with white gravy 11. Fetuccini Carbonara 12. Roast chicken with Java sauce
For New Year I will be attending a family and friends party in which I am avoiding because I do not mix well with a lot of people there LOL. I am not the designated cook this year for this event.... I hope....
