Hello all! I've recently discovered sacred after playing titan quest+immortal throne (great game btw) and boy do I like it! There is however one little thing I would like to have fixed, but that's really more something esthetically than an actual problem. I'm quite a freak of getting my character to look just right . But I'll post that in the appropriate place. And what about me? Well, I'm a 16 year-old from Belgium that loves classic games. There that's it, anything else you'd like to know? Just ask

For classic games I highly recommend the Baldur's Gate Enhanced edition if you happened to have played any of the series or not though is irrelevant since it is awesome. It comes out sometime this summer and to me it is the game that really got RPG's into the mainstream on PC's. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldur's_Gate:_Enhanced_Edition

Hello exxiled! Sacred is a nice gem as far as classic games go. Are games like Sacred and Titan Quest the only ones you like? Perhaps your tastes are less genre specific and more setting inclined, say fantasy? Getting your character to look 'just right' can be very tricky in ARPGs where you are constantly progressing through different mismatched items... if you're an able player you can offset deficiencies enough caused by prioritizing the appearance of armor over their stats to survive until you find nicer looking equipment you DO like. Good luck!

Thx for the replies! ARE666: thanks for the tip of baldur's gate, I might check it out after I finish sacred of course . Belix: sacred and titan quest are by far not the only ones I like, there are many more. Overall I like RPG's, so I also very much like Morrowind (with a ton of mods of course ), diablo is another great game, or fable another great RPG IMHO, and so on... But there are other games I like too, like starcraft. So RPG's are not the only things, but they are my main favorite. And yes, getting it to look just right is difficult. Personnally I don't look at the stats too much (only with bosses I equip the best I have) but prefer the best looking armor.

That's some nice variety! Morrowind, Diablo and StarCraft are games I've spent many hours with, and will probably spend many more. ;D
Sacred is one of those games I knew about for awhile but took too long to get around to buying it. Then, after I finally purchased the Gold version, I neglected it for at least two years before playing it.
With most (A)RPG games I tend to play each type of character given enough time. So far I've played a Battle Mage and Dwarf with Sacred. Perhaps I'll get to the other six some day... hopefully while technology can still run any of these games, haha.

Hehe, yes it can be fun to discover a new playing style by chosing another character. As for sacred I've been playig the battlemage and the dark elf but I'd like to check out the daemon sometime.
And I'm pretty confident technology will always be able to play these games. Especially since the computers are getting really powerfull and the technology of virtualisation is on the rise. So playing an old game can now be as easy as simply virtualising the OS it was created for and playing it in that OS. Sometimes it's not working perfect but they are working on it.

Yep, I've used DOSBox and VirtualBox quite a bit. Though, last time I used VirtualBox for gaming it couldn't run something much newer than Quake II smoothly at the time. I should really see what the latest version can do. At some point though, say, 50 years from now, we may end up running virtual operating systems in a series like Russian nesting dolls to get games from the 1990's and early 2000 working any more. Assuming the chain doesn't break somewhere.

Yeah, well virtualisation isn't perfect (yet). But I'm pretty sure that virtualising older operating systems will become standard, and perhaps sooner than 50 years...
