Sacred 2 Closed servers shutting down

At the end of March, the Closed servers will be eliminated. I have no idea if this means a new game in the series is coming any time soon.

Deep Silver got the license to Sacred 3 from Ascaron before they closed up, and they are supposedly developing the third installment, but no official release date has been announced, just a ballpark estimate of 2011-2012. Since we're in that timeframe now and I haven't heard or seen much about Sacred 3, it has likely been pushed back to just before or in 2013 somewhere. Or perhaps development on it has shuttered. We can only wait and see.

There have been no announcements or news that I have been aware of in regards to Sacred 3 from Deep Silver.

The link above gives only a small amount of information. With Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, and Torchlight 2 all nearing release I don't think a third Sacred game could compete at the moment.
