I was wondering if anyone could shed a little light on this, as I am new to the game and curious.
I understand that the Battle Mage can cast seemingly all of his buffs (Flameskin, Stoneskin, Whirlwind?, Cataract of Agility, Ghost Meadow, Reiki) on other party members (players, NPCs etc) and a few threads and guides I've read gladly give you their opinion on the buffs... for your own use.
But nothing seems to discuss utilizing the Battle Mage to maintain buffs on other party members. For a caster Battle Mage, I gather it simply isn't feasible to learn ALL of the buffs since you'd be stopping every few seconds to recast one, especially if casting on others too, but more importantly keep them all at a level where they would all be effective and even worth casting.
So I was curious, given the eternal struggle with regeneration timers as you play, is it feasible for a single Battle Mage to keep himself and other characters boosted at all times with a few different buffs at levels high enough to be worthwhile? Clearly Ghost Meadow and Reiki are possible, with relatively low regeneration times and high durations... but how many others would a caster Battle Mage dare juggle?
Let's say GM/R are in a combo. That limits them to low levels if they're to be recasted asap, but they look like they'd be helpful later on even at Level 1, albeit less so as time passes. I see Stoneskin, Flameskin and Shield Wall seem to be the other favored buffs. How many can be maintained constantly at an effective level? Or, would even a single buff on the normal timers trying to be kept on all the time on 2+ characters force you to keep it at a level so low that it would be ineffectual?
The other concern is casting the buff spells resets all the spell timers since they tend to have the longest regen time; it would seem playing a Battle Mage like this would rule out the use of several attack spells that take awhile to regenerate, such as Fire Spiral and Purgatory.
