My only suggestion is to check the Darkmatters.org form and see if anybody has posted information on your request.

Tx DaveO; I was hoping for a mod that would turn the Village Idio..uhh, Troubador into an Enemy, so when I came into the village, he would attAck me with his flute: THEN I COULD OFF HIM!!, after which he would respawn when I left...then I could return AND DO IT AGAIN!! ...Ŋє۱Єlєοѕ

You could just set up a switch on your foot that you could click to turn the sound off in the game when they start. I figure when you are in town there is not too much of interest going on as far as sound that you should be listening for, like the sound you hear when you are about to die when fighting for example wont be played in a town.

Area;
My gaming keyboard has a switch to mute/adjust sound levels, so I have been pretty much using it to interupt the troubador, much like you suggested...Ŋє۱Єlєοѕ

Are the people you are talking about the ones that sing the Blind Guardian song?
I am thinking that if you felt inclined that you could figure out what soundfile it is that the game calls when you are near one and that just maybe you could replace that file with one of your own, but the game may have a check to make sure the file is the correct size.
