Wooo-hooo!! SCORE!!On a recent family visit, I and my nephew found ourselves 'accidently' in the gaming aisle of big, electronics store. I stood in front of Sacred 2, quietly lusting. Finally nephew says (he's a gamer, too, so understands these things), " You've been standing in front of that game for an hour with your tongue out; Startin' ta get kinda embarrassing. So like just get it!" Told him my problem with the humongous patch and my slow, dirty phoneline. He looked thoughtful (well, as thoughtful as teenagers get) for a sec, then said, : "Tell ya what: For your early birthday present, you buy that game and I'll download all the patches and upgrades it requires and flip them to ya on a CD." Teenage boys DON'T like big slobbery kisses from their aunties!!! So "IT" is loaded and I've played a few hours as my fave character - Sera, naturally. The initial cut-scene death is kinda histrionic; Tho't I was watching an old Judy Garland movie...or Carol Burnett playing Scarlett O'Hara. Now all that remains is to get Mother Wolfe playing. Wolfe, ya still computerless? Should we take up a collection for one in want? ...Ŋє۱Єlєοѕ

Sounds like a good deal to me. You get things that help you out, and he got to spend very little money on a gift that was effective.
Wolfe is playing S2, but she has to play it on her PS3. I assume she does not have a working computer though still. I had offered to help her get one back in like December, but nothing ever came of it.

Congrats sweetie!!!! Yeah I finally got it for the PS3 and am somewhat disappointed with some of it so far. Mostly though I hate the map issues, which I believe are waaay better on the PC version. Yes I am still computerless other than this cruddy laptop. I'm not bothering to fix or replace the old PC though for 3 reasons.
1. Money!
2. Our tiny apartment has so much furniture in it already and after we took down the computer desk when the last computer died we inherited MORE furniture so I have no idea where the heck I could even put a computer desk without getting rid of one of my bookshelves... then where would all my books go? As it is one of the large bookshelves is nothing but DVDs and there is very little room left on it, we've starting having to stack piles on top of rows of DVDs...
3. The wiring is still faulty and we still get power surges and I just don't want to have to buy an expensive generator or something to keep the computer from getting hit. I also just don't want to risk blowing ANOTHER computer. This apartment has already killed 5 or 6!!

Wolfe;
1. Money! Now THAT I can understand. Made me whimper to pay full price for Sacred2, but I soooo wanted it!!
...then where would all my books go? As it is, one of the large bookshelves is nothing but DVDs and there is very little room left on it, we've starting having to stack piles on top of rows of DVDs... Sounds like my den/office/library. I converted the basement to the "Downstairs" and now have some floor-to-ceiling bookcases, about 2/3s filled with books and 1/3 with movies (I'm not hooked to the TV grid so watch a LOT of movies!) and my desk/computer/TV/VHS/DVD player stuff (Uhhhh,...7 Pounds w/ Will Smith is tragically uplifting).
I also just don't want to risk blowing ANOTHER computer. This apartment has already killed 5 or 6!! Can empathize with this! Living out in the Backside of Beyond, I have a LOT of power glitches, twitches, browners, failure and drop-outs. My brother (my goto guy for things electronic. If we were on the Right Coast, I'd send him over to fix your computer. He's an electech and knowledgeable about electronics) , tiring of fixing things, made me get an UPS. And I am careful to disconnect EVERYTHING (including phones, stereo, and TV) when the thunderbumpers come thru'!
Shades of "Amityville Horror". Ummmm...maybe we should all chip in to send an exorcist over to "clear" your apartment ;D...Ŋє۱Єlєοѕ

Actually boys in general are sneaky. Like for me if I can say cook for a gf or something that is cheaper than some random gift I will be all over it.

That I do, just for fun now, although my pizzas I make are tested by people so I can get an eventual perfect recipe so I can open my own restaurant somewhere down the line. I also plan to go to a culinary school when I am done with my current schooling and in a real job.
