I am severely disappointed. I bought it today for my xbox, and almost went directly back to the store to return it. If I hadn't played Sacred 1 since the week in was released in the US I would have! I remember when my computer ran S2 for the beta test it wasn't quite this bad, but it only worked for a week or so... is the game any good on PC?
For starters, the view point is terrible. You cannot see half of what is going on, and the depth perception is a disaster. The comparable skill to Ice Shards misses opponents 3/4 of the time. I picked up throwing stars... guess what? No aiming. Even when it hits baddies it looks like it's missing. There is no evidence of "attack rating" as we are so used to, but my character misses baddies standing right next to me.. even at low levels where it should be nearly impossible.
I can't even keep doing this, having to write a poor review on a game I had such high expectations for is killing me.

I FINALLY got the PS3 version last week since my computer won't run the PC version.... I have to say I am a bit disappointed too! The map is HORRIBLE. It is nearly impossible to tell if you've cleared all of an area, especially the large caves and dungeons. Navigating is really hard with all the twisty, turny paths and roads without a good map to help. The drops SUCK so far. The regen rates for combat arts even after only reading one or two runes is atrocious. The portal and resurrection shrine setup makes fast traveling really hard since you can only go to the last shrine you clicked on and the portals are spaced way to far away from each other. Plus even if the PC version worked I was planning on getting the PS3 version so that my husband and I could play together. After only trying it for a few hours it was a lost cause though!! The way the drops split up is crazy. Whoever creates the game gets almost ALL of the drops from both creatures and chests and the person who joined that game gets screwed. Plus you can't even trade items between two characters sharing a console and you also can't drop items on the ground for them to pick up so we can't even share gear!!!
I am especially ticked off because to be honest I really, really couldn't afford to buy the game. In fact my rent is going to be a week late because I just couldn't help myself. But after playing it I am not even totally sure I would WANT to own the console version even if I could have afforded it!!!!
Grrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm totally with you here wolfe. Let's rebel! We need to call Ascaron and tell them to remake S2, and make it more like S1. Oh and while they are at it, put in some characters that I actually want to play as too. I just want my standard Wood Elf or Dark Elf... heck the battlemage kicks the crap out of the high elf.
I was dying for a great RPG to play.. i've tried everything... and just nothing suffices. Then I heard about the release on the 360.... I went out and bought it right away. They can't even get a stupid bow wielding character right. That's all I want... a good long range bow character. Fable 2 blew it with their whole god damn guns thing. I freaking hate guns. Just give me a damn bow. LOTR: Conquest is just plain boring. D2 zons got nerfed at about 1.06 so there is no point there. I can't take much more of this. I think I am going to go back to school for programming games and write a god damn good game for hunters. !@#%

Wow sweet!!! Good news!!!! So I was really ticked because I spent $60 on the game and didn't like it enough for $60.... if I'd waited quite a few months and got a used copy for $15 - $20 I would have been happy, but not $60 and since I opened the game I couldn't return it. However, CDV sent me an unopened retail copy of the game so I can just return THAT copy and get my money back yay!!!!!! As for good RPGs I have two suggestions for games that I looooooved!!!! Both are available for the 360 and PC if you really wanted to go that route, but I prefer these ones on the console. First is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion if you haven't played it yet and it even has an expansion called Shivering Isles if you want to play even more once you are done. You can make a pretty darn good bow character too! I was obsessed with that game for quite a while almost as bad as I was obsessed with Sacred Underworld The other game is made by the same people and it's interface is very similar and that is Fallout 3. Now this game DOES do guns, which I thought that I would hate since I just can't stand shooters. But I was very pleasantly surprised. It has something called the VATS system... which what it does is pretty much pause the game DURING combat and you can target specific body parts of your enemy or enemies and it does all the aiming for you... once you've done choosing all your shots the game un-pauses and your character just shoots away. It's sooooo great. Anyway we've talked about both games here on the forum but I just loooooooooove them!!!!!!
