How do I tell if I have US or UK version? I'm in Hong Kong, where most of the games are imported...
I don't have any problems so far though...

The earliest place I know of to tell is when you load the game and it has the console come up. The first line will be something like "SACRED2 v.x.xx.x BUILD xxxx LANGUAGE EN_UK". That is what mine says. You may have a different version than what I do if you have not patched at all so I left the numbers as an x. I would assume that if you have the US version it would say language EN_US. Seeing as how the US version is not out yet I would assume you have the UK one and if you have not patched it then you need to get the patches, which bring it up to 2.12.0 and the build is 1440, or I think that is the numbers.

I just realized another way to find out if you need to patch or not is to simply run the patch utility the game comes with. It will be located in the main directory you installed the game to and is called Sacred2Updater.exe.
I am happy to see Ascaron giving us all better support this time around though. The current patch for the game is the third one I have installed since the game came out.

Thanks... I have the UK version, and is now patched. The patch is rather huge for their server's bandwidth though.

Patch?

The game has been out in Europe a very short time and has 3 patches already. That speaks well of publisher support (getting problems fixed), and less than well of pre-release quality control/testing (not finding the problems before release). As I plan to get the US release when available at my local brick and mortar store, I was wondering, will the US release have the patches already installed, or will I have to spend hours with my cable-light modem downloading? Does the third patch already have the first two included? Curious as always, fleet

Patch?

There was one large patch so far, and two hot fix ones. The big patch was 456 megs, and for the smaller there is one to bring it up to the current level, so you do not need the 2nd of 3, that is 24 megs.
As for if the US version will be patched, I know that when I got my copy in I went to the US patch area by default and it said none were needed, but with it not being out yet that would make sense. It is possible it wont need the biggest patch though upon its release since that patch is kind of old and could have made its way in before the game went gold. The game will still be fine without them though if you are worried about getting them, but if you want to play online you must have the newest version.

I don't play on-line, but I do like to patch to be able to get any additional content. Also, I assume some of the bugs are present in single player mode. I'll watch the cdv site and Ascaron site for information about the US patch. Let's see a 436 MB patch will take 90 minutes to download on my PC. I wonder if a download manager would help (it qouldn't work when I downloaded the demo)... regards, fleet
