Howdy, I'm fleet. I like retexturing games. I have the demo of Sacred 2 and thought this might be a good place to hang out. Question: Does this board permit discussing reskinning Sacred 2? I live in central Texas. regards, fleet

I'm not sure what you mean by skinning actually... But if it means going against your game user agreement by modifying game files and it hasn't been approved directly from Ascaron... then no we don't allow discussion of it here.

Thank you for the welcome. Since even discussing game mods is not allowed, this forum and I are not a good match. Please drop me from your membership roles. You'd also best delete all my posts as the picture I posted was taken with Fraps, a third party software, and the picture is of a modification (hair color) NOT approved by the developer. I wish you continued success with the site, and enjoy Sacred 2.

Actually, use of Fraps is encouraged by the staff so we can take videos from in-game.
The change of hair color was an intended feature that they've been speaking freely about at the Sacred International Forum so that is fine too.
Plus a member over there has offered to make a character creation program using game files so people can see the effects of changing stats on their characters to better plan them before actually doing it in game, which has been an approved project by Ascaron.
I'm talking about hacks that modifies or multiplies items or other such cheats that Ascaron has specifically banned people from doing and so is therefore illegal. Which then will break my forum admin user agreement here if I allow discussion of it...

I'm slightly confused. I've made a mod that changes the hair color to something that is not available using the in-game console "syshaircolor #" command, that allows the player to save the hair color so when the game restarts the hair color does not revert. I've also made a mod that changes the appearance of some of the armor, and another that hides the seraphim's wings, but I do not alter character or item stats. Here's the platimun blonde with hidden wings. So is discussing retexturing allowed here or not? regards, fleet EDIT: If talking aabout mods is disallowed here, does anybody know of a site where discussing mods is permitted?

Hmmm yeah I think re-texting counts against the user agreement, I thought you were using the console commands to do the hair color. I'm sorry but to the best of my knowledge you won't find any official fan sites willing to talk about modding, it could ruin our good standing with Ascaron. So unless you find a non-official clansite or something you might be out of luck.

Hello. Does anyone know of any unofficial sites where discussion of modding Sacred 2 is permitted? If that is something that can't be discussed here in open forum, send me a PM. best regards,

So asking about sites where modding can be discussed also cannot be discused?

Pretty much because it is still condoning talking about mods which again is illegal.
