As the title says, what games is everybody playing around here?
Currently I am playing....
Bioshock (for the second time since a patch gave new things) Turok Overlord Shadowgrounds Survivor Hellgate London (maybe, I only have the demo right now)
All of those are on the PC right now, but I soon plan to get a PS3 to play Soul Calibur IV, and I may play one of the Elderscrolls games if I like how it looks.

Play OBLIVION on the PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's see, I just finished Oblivion on the PS3 but am thinking about starting a new character. The first time around I was a warrior thief style character and I want to try out a mage type.
I also just started Heavenly Sword which is also a PS3 game, it's attacks are sick and the graphics are phenomenal!! The only unfortunate part is that is is a rather short game, Alucard finished it in about 4 days and he can't even play for 8 hours a day like I can hehe.
I just installed Shaiya on my computer but have only played it for an hour, not sure if I like it yet.
Lastly I have been playing a rather silly flash game called Adventure Quest.

Sacred + UW - In fact I just finished UW Bronze for the first time yesterday Diablo 2 + LoD - I have a "home forum" where I play B.Net Open with the members there Heroes of Might and Magic V - I'm a long time Heroes fans, doing the Hammers of Fate campaigns now The Witcher - Amazing RPG. GearHead - Futuristic roguelike with giant mecha and anime elements NetHack - My first roguelike and my favorite one Dwarf Fortress - Really a game in its own category, pretty amazing
Plus some oldies on DosBox: D/Generation, Prince of Persia 1, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2, Bandit Kings of Ancient China
@ Wolfe: If you like Oblivion, really consider getting it on PC... the community produced a lot of extremely high quality mods! They make the game 10 times better.

Oh my gosh I know!! I have read about some of the most popular mods and am soooo jealous that they aren't available on the PS3 yet. But they do plan to eventually make them available since the PS3 is connected to the internet and all. Just a matter of time.

I am playing nothing right now. I just reinstalled D2 to play with a friend of mine but I haven't started playing it yet.
Actually I guess that's a lie. The same friend and I are playing some 1st person shooter on the xbox 360 - I think it's one of the rainbow six games. It's alright, nothing special as far as fsp goes. I'm playing a couple older games on my xbox too.. Fate and Oblivion - but I don't really think I like Oblivion. It's not really all that fun - too much running, not enough killing - and personally I think the story is boring. Maybe it's just me though.

They have an official plan to allow mods on PS3?!!
From what I've learned it costs you an arm and a leg -- actually, I think it costs much more money than what you can get by selling my whole family as slaves -- for the PS3 SDK... they don't allow any user made contents there.
XBox once have a toy version of its SDK out, but you can't do anything fancy, or actually, anything practical with it.
Consoles, as I understand it, is a world closed to mod makers.

I played Adventure Quest for a while too back 6 months or so ago since it was on a banner here I think. It was fun, but it is silly, and I think I just got bored of it. If I play Oblivion it will be on my PC.

Oblivion - but I don't really think I like Oblivion. It's not really all that fun - too much running, not enough killing - and personally I think the story is boring. Maybe it's just me though. It's not just you. That's why mods are really needed. They fixed a whole lot of stuff. There're fan made patches for the three versions of the game: vanilla, Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isle. == Long rant warning == The vanilla unofficial patch fixed well over 1000 bugs, from scripting, model, animation, texture and spelling errors. And then there's the auto-leveling problem, since everything levels with you, while you can go anywhere you want, you quickly realize this eliminates any sense of risk or accomplishment. Plus when you level up to the top of those item/creature tables, you will only see the same few items/enemies. So there're a bunch of mods to fix that... they actually went over *all* the creatures in the world and changed all their levels. Auto-leveling is removed or restricted, so some areas will be more dangerous than others. Item/creature tables tweaked so you get to see all of them even if you're high level. Sometimes it's fun to meet low level critters and slaughter them. Also the problem of skill increase linked to your level... if you level up 50 times on Speechcraft (and it's one of your main skills), you level up 5 times. You don't get any further on your combat abilities but all your enemies just got tougher. So there're mods to tweak that as well... and they work with the enemy-leveling mods. The fans have fixed the low resolution textures, fixed the broken graphics engine in Oblivion (many features are not used correctly), provided a way to skip the tutorial dungeon (you don't want to escape the prison everytime you restart do you), added many more beautiful items and creatures, new stories, new quests, etc. Oblivion is best played on PC...

Yeah I wrote them an email asking about mods on the PS3 and they answered saying that aren't 100% sure it will happen but they do plan on attempting to adapt them to the PS3 version if possible, although they haven't a clue how soon that will be. Oh and my version automatically has the Knights of the Nine mod and I got a second disk that adds the Shivering Isles mod to it as well.

Have you played through Shivering Isle? Unlike in the vanilla and KotN (where everything auto-scales to you and thus are of no risk at all), there're some very exciting moments in SI...

Yeah I completed it along with the rest of the game, but I didn't notice because I sorta cheated lol. I made a 100% Chameleon suit very early on

I was referring to the dungeon collapsing, killing you instantly if you collide with the falling rocks, and the swarm of Order Knights (forgot their names?) attacking you like Mr. Smith(s) fighting Neo. Those were the only times in Oblivion that I felt I had to run for my life.
And of course that huge gate keeper... not of any great risk, but felt very different.

Yeah that Dungeon collapsing was pretty scary.... None of the enemies could see me so those part were easy for me though. Also if you try hitting Sheogorath he'll drop you from way high in the sky down into a pit where you always die on impact

So I just beat Turok today finally, which was a pretty good game, but insanely hard in parts which got annoying, and now I am moving on to playing the expansion for Company Of Heroes and Gears Of Was, again both on the PC. I will probably be starting Mass Effect on PC soon too.
This Thursday the PS3 model I want comes out, the one that brings back the 80 gig hard drive and backwards playability, and has the new Dual Shock 3 controller, so I will be getting that. It comes with Metal Gear Solid 4, but I will likely just sell that on eBay or find somebody who wants it since I do not care for it. Maybe I will buy a game for it, but I do not think there are any out I can not live with right now, so it will just be a Blu Ray player for the time being.

Haha that's the model I have! It is sooo awesome.... I have a few suggestions for games though. Alucard seems to be really enjoying Uncharted and he LOVED Assassin's Creed. We haven't tried it yet but have heard that Devil May Cry 4 was amazing and a huge challenge. Alucard is still having a blast with Grand Theft Auto 4 and although I don't like the game a lot of the content in it is hysterical. Heavenly Sword was great fun and had amazing graphics but sadly was very short. Lastly, Alucard is waiting with baited breath for Metal Gear Solid 4 to be released on Thursday.
