So I was thinking about it some more and I decided that the current way of scoring can tip the game points drastically in some instances which doesn't really make it as fair or as much of a contest as I was hoping for. For instance Grif got 100 points from just one hangman puzzle because it was such a long movie name and he guessed it pretty much right off the bat. Well he kinda felt bad too because he also thought that him getting 100 points from one puzzle wasn't exactly fair so he offered to not have that one count but I figured that he DID solve it so he SHOULD get the reward. However now it leaves it where the chances of anyone catching up to him is very small. Therefore I think we need a new way of scoring the hangman game but I am not sure how to do it..... I figure if we can come up with a new scoring method I will just go through all the previous games and change the game points to go with the new system.
Any ideas??

Honestly, the point given for each correct letter and 20 points or so for the correct word is sufficient and fair. Longer does not necessarily equate to more difficult. :wink2:

I agree. In fact, shorter is more difficult.
If we choose a random number for solving a puzzle to be worth then it will be more or less fair. Just like what Hal said, except the number doesn't necessarily have to be 20, especially since getting a letter is only worth 1 point. I think 10 could be a fair value, but I guess we should probably have some kind of vote to decide what it should be worth...
After instilling this new point scale you may consider restarting points, as it would only be fair for everyone.

Well rather than restarting the points I would just recount all the points for each game already won so your numbers will just drop.
So this is what I was thinking if everyone agrees:
1 point per letter 10 points for solving the puzzle 1 point per X for the hangman leader or 15 points if you stump everyone with a puzzle (since it is harder to stump everyone)

I'm ok with that. What about riddles? Will they stay at 10 points per riddle, or are we going to adjust score per the difficulty of the riddle?

The scoring looks great to me Wolfe. Personally, I think the riddles should be the same, like 10 points or so.

Sounds great then... I will fix it now. And yes riddles still 10 points each
