Well, I called him an executioner, even though I dislike totally violent characters without motive...
But if you overlook the CA Soul Catcher in your DE build, you are missing out on an *EXTREMELY* powerful melee skill, particularly in UW, which tends to put you in spots far away from health potions, and knee deep in enemies.
For the Executioner, or whatever you'd like to call him, emphasize on the following:
ALL Attribute points go to Physical Regeneration. In my mind this goes without saying for *any* melee build, and since I'm not in the magic business, this DE won't bother with anything else, either.
SKILLS:
Weapon Lore
Concentration
Constitution
Dual Wielding
Agility
Armor
*your choice*
*your choice*
Basically, the last two are *your choice* because you can manipulate your way out of certain restrictions if you have UW. and choose to pick your own default skills. I pick Blade Combat, and Trading. I believe Concetration goes with the default skill table,*as it should*, you have no business making a meleer without it, and I would say it supercedes Constitution in this regard. You can have fewer hit points, but be able to smack the sh#t out of your opponent and win the day. However, I don't build stupid characters, nor stupid Dark Elves, and they have both. I digress.
I'm a fan of agility, because I'd rather hit and not get hit than rely on my protection after the fact. Parry is a very good skill, and I use it myself in my Vamp Builds, but for dual wielding, or ranged combat characters, I feel that it is a waste. Your mileage may vary. Some swear by it, I am an agility advocate,so take that into account .
Why Agility? Well for DW characters, you are getting defense x2, though at a slower rate, but attack x*4* no matter what you are weilding. That's a huge payoff. I guess I just follow the philosophy that a good offense is your best defense .
I haven't seen anyone mention Soul Catcher in their build, and I didn't know why until post 50. It is a boring CA, but it will make you the tank of all tanks in UW and level 50+. You can basically be by yourself with no pots, turn on Soul Catcher and take on mob after mob (mind you, this is *not* a "big enemy" skill, though you should turn it on to gather their minions life energy if you think about it), level like the devil, and have the benefit of finding nice stuff.
You don't always find set items from dragons or Sakarras, and in fact, you usually don't. It's the faceless mobs that give up the goods.
Find a nice cave, or even the area between Silver Creek and Porto Vallum, turn on Soul Catcher so that you leech life, and then go bang away on the enemies.
Even if you don't find any good stuff this way, you can still level to your hearts content.
