Here is an interesting take on the soul. I have heard many things close to it, but nothing this detailed.
Entire entities, consisting of thousands of souls, are cast out from the creator. These entities fragment into individual souls for incarnation to the physical plane. The souls remain physical for as long as it takes to experience all there is to experience about being human and to complete several stages or cycles and integrate once again with the entity they fragmented from and eventually back to the creator. There are seven levels of evolution of the soul, five of which are physical. They are: Infant, Baby, Young, Mature, Old, Infinite and Transcendental. The first five are physical. There are vast differences between how souls in each level perceive themselves and the world around them. Such as infant souls tend to perceive everything as "me" and "not me". Everything frightens them and they may withdraw into themselves. They truly do not understand the difference between right and wrong, are often bitten by dogs (the dog senses their fear), will not ride horses, and eat only to survive. Baby souls tend to perceive everything as "me" and "many other me's". They're the ones who say "Do it right or not at all." They tend to be very fundamentalistic, believe in the forces of evil, prudish, know everything that is good is for you and keep everything antiseptically clean. Young souls are the movers and shakers. Their perception is one of "you" and "me"... let's change you. Everything must be done their way. They set themselves grand and sometimes impossible goals and will work tirelessly for a cause. They tend to renounce loudly and hate deeply when others don't live up to their expectations. Young souls tend to be very attached to the physical and material things. Mature souls have the most difficulty. They start to question all of life, perceive others as they perceive themselves and are more introspective. They try to shield themsleves from unpleasant vibrations. The soul starts to gradually open up, and psychic phenomena start to occur. Religions tend to be quiter and more self-motivated such as Buddhism. They make fine chefs and their pets tend to reflect their personalities. Old souls realize that there are no problems save for what we have created for ourselves as defense. They realize they everything including themselves are part of something greater. They tend to choose undemanding work so that they can persue other things. Most old souls are comfortable around animals, even wild or fearful ones. Old souls tend to gravitate toward philosophy and the arts. They all search for the feeling of home. Transcendental souls experience others as itself. They can displace an old soul at any time. Infinite souls perceive the creator. Transcendental souls were: Socrates, Zarathustra, Mohammed, and Mohandas K. Gandhi. Infinite souls: Lao-Tzu, Sri Krishna, Siddhartha Guatama and Jesus.
OK. Enough for now.
