I am very proud of myself. ;D (Sorry, you'll all have to click pics to see full size, trying to insert full-size image just ended up with 'image'; guess I was over the size limit) I'll post how below.

Okay, how I did it. (I was on Platinum)
I used four things: 1. quick as a flash 2. spider arrow 3. multiple shot 4. multi-hit (remember that the higher this is, the wider the spread; mine was at level 10 after equip when I did this)
I'm not sure if other equip options would matter or not. I have a fairly scattered collection of equip, so my guess is you could probably do it with just about anything.
First, stock up on health potions. If you look at the pics, you'll see I have a stash on me. I started off with about three times that amount. You will need to be constantly drinking potions, since it is not really possible to outrun the guardians.
Second, I used the heaviest damage I could (and not rely on something that is constantly dealing damage, like Penetrating Arrow) to get the guardians down to low health, which was a combination of multiple shot and multi-hit. At point-blank, this almost always hits just one opponent, which was fine by me, the goal was just to hurt them enough to get them down to low health.
Now that the guardians are at low health, keep firing normal arrows until they are on the brink of death. I was doing about 500-100 dmg to a guardian with a normal hit. The idea at this stage is just to ensure that the next shot to any of the three guardians will likely kill them.
When the guardians were at about 1 pixel width of health, I released some spider arrows at them as a distraction. Since they were wasting their time attacking the spiders, I was free to put some distance between us. If you are fairly lucky, the guardians stay clustered close together.
Now, pick a spot to stand so that you are approximately the same distance from each guardian. Activate your Multiple Shot and fire a Multi-hit arrow at the guardian in the middle. This creates a wave of arrows expanding outwards from your character, like a shockwave. If you have done this right, and are lucky, this shockwave will hit each guardian at the same time and kill them all at once.
When I performed this "arrow shockwave" maneuver, It did approximately 2000-3000 damage to each guardian, so you have to be sure that all three have extremely low health. I saved/loaded partway through so many times I lost count, but it was probably somewhere around 4-5 hours total before it worked for me. I recommend you start saving once they get lower on health, too (make a new save file for these, or you may be sorry; it is possible to save only to have a guardian fall over from poison damage, so be careful)
That's about it. I, for one, am off to preen myself for being the mighty hunter that I am (just like my cat does after catching a mouse in the basement).
Later.

Hey, no worries! I was really just looking to get bragging rights. As I said in my introduction, I joined as an effort to give something back for all the times I used your site to plan a character or gain area/quest info. Glad it's useful.

Hehe well what better bragging rights is there than having your name on the actual webpage as part of the quest tutorial! LOL
And yes thank you the info. was very useful...
BTW, do you want another name listed on the website or do you use Zero Hunter for everything?

I use Zero Hunter as my generic online name. As such, any board I am part of I am almost certainly registered as that (unless it is already taken). So, Zero Hunter is fine by me. If anyone wants to contact me (only reason I can think of for including more info), I'm on the board anyways.
Apologies that this message is not as well-written as most of my posts. I'm currently at hour 23 since I woke up because of an all-nighter to get a group project done. It started January. It is due Wednesday (April 4). We are still trying to figure out who does what for some things.
Well, I should stop rambling before I get a boot to the head for not posting this in Sticks and Stones.

I may as well post this here too, since nobody seems to have noticed it yet. When I was fighting the Forest Golem, I realized I had sold my Weapon of Legends (and I also surprised myself with the number of 4-letter words I know ). Anyways, I figured there was no way I would start Underworld again, so I decided to find another way to beat the Forest Golem. Eventually, after trying most Wood Elf skills (I was bow-focused) and what few damage spells I actually bothered with (which I think is just Plant Cage; can't remember now), I got around to trying Spider Arrows... He took full damage So, Spider Arrows and Multiple Shot at point blank will do it. My Spider Arrows were somewhere around lvl 8, so it took 15-20 minutes (plus 4 or 5 trips back to Purgatory for more strong healing potions; tip - if you talk to a merchant, buy all the healing potions, and talk to them again, they sometimes have more potions; not sure what triggers it) This was the same game I got my mighty 6 attribute points in (on Platinum). I base the 'full damage' on the fact that that's also the damage all the dryads took when I tried Spider Arrow/Multiple Shot on them.

Did you die before you were able to kill the forest golem?

No, I didn't die. My Resistance/Protection was high enough that it took the forest golem 2 or 3 hits to kill me, so all I had to do was keep a finger on the Spacebar (and, as I mentioned, I had to refill potions a few times). My defence was high enough that there was a fairly low chance of a hit (something like 30%, I can't remember exactly)
So, there is a way to kill the forest golem without the Weapon of Legends. I don't know how useful this information is to anyone, but there it is.

and, as I mentioned, I had to refill potions a few times Did you have to leave the area to restock potions? For instance, did you take the waypoint back to the island or something to that effect? I only ask, because I've done this before too. When I did it I was using a BM and since I had no actual attacks other than standard left click I couldn't hurt him. I died, then came back and I could kill him with GoW and fire spiral. I'm trying to figure out if it just means you have to spawn him then leave and come back to the area or not...

Yes, I did have to leave the area (I got all my potions back at Purgatory). I'm trying to remember if the Spider Arrows started working before or after I left for the first time.
When I left the area for the first time, it was because I figured I couldn't beat the golem, but it seems to me that at some point I decided that I should wander around and collect more runes to level up some attacks before facing it again.
I just can't remember if that was why I left the first time, and if I had tried Spider Arrows before my first leave. Sorry.

No problem, I'll figure it out eventually. For characters such as the BM or magic WE there can be a problem killing him, so I was trying to find a way around it a while back. I haven't tried since the new patch came out several months ago...

Yes, I imagine that a magic Wood Elf would only really have Quick as a Flash (which is self-buffing), and I already know that the Battle Mage only has self-buffs, too. That's an interesting challenge you set for yourself, Griff. With no melee attack arts, you can only really self-buff and keep attacking with the WoL.
