Did you play the game? #lmao# Here's another one www.abovegod.com/A little scary. While not really a religion, I suppose it could be called a belief system of sorts www.fixedearth.com/

Wow, that pisses me off so badly that I can't even think straight enough to put into words the eloquent speech I wanted to write in response....

Which one? I found both of them frightening and quite frankly disturbing. Unreal. Or was it the church of the flying spaghetti monster? The hate mail on that one was interesting. People claimed their lives were ruined by this church. Ran across a newer one called "Matrixism". Yes, it's based on the movie. From the way it sounded, you could pretty much believe anything you wanted as long as you also believe that "The One" is coming.

I like the hate mail since it can show how ignorant people really are. They think that it is a serious religion when it is just for fun. When people get mad like that you can so easily make them look silly. Like I enjoyed the response on the main page from all the people telling them to goto Hell so one of the readers figured they must be going on vacation. The other two though I am not sure what to think of. The first one did not seem like much of a belief set though, just one persons random rants. The second was more interesting since it was more scientific, but still more of an ideology like Hal said.
Oh, and what game?

I was talking about the spaghetti church... you must have been posting the same time I was cause I didn't see your post till just now.
But any "religion" like that makes be angry... it completely perverts and trivializes the entire point of spirituality!

Here's the game Area www.venganza.org/worship/fsm-game/You're right, the first one was ranting (mostly raving like a madperson) I think, but the second at least had some kind of "scientific" research involved, although still pretty scary. Wolfe, I can understand why you would think that way and why it is offensive to you. Exactly why they have pages of hate mail posted there. I think if I had to pick an organized church to belong to, it would probably be Unitarian Universalism. The belief there is that all should have the freedom to find their own truth. Congregations consist of atheists, pagans, buddhists, christians.... there is no set creed or requirement to become a member. It is simply about each person's search for their own spirituality and path, discussion and fellowship. In other words, no one path is the only path. The basic principles are: To affirm and promote: - The inherent worth and dignity of every person - Justice, equity and compassion in human relations - Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations - A free and responsible search for truth and meaning - The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large - The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all - Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Hehe yeah I have a lot of friends that are part of UU.... I personally don't like "organized religion" though and although this is a lot different it is getting closer to what I don't like about it. Overall I really love their goal and purpose..

Well, from the way it sounds I wouldn't consider it an organized religion, but more of a place or way to get together with open and like-minded people to share and learn. There is an online community also for those who are isolated for whatever reason.

If we are still talking about the monster one then I like it because it is an excuse to dress like a pirate, which is always cool in my book, and since Halloween is only once a year I need as many reasons as I can get.

So the craziest religions I can think of are Scientology and Mormonism... And if you want to know why I said Scientology just watch the South Park episode about it..... I swear that they were totally correct when it came to what they believe. For that matter watch the Mormon episode too. LOL funny funny stuff. ;D So thanks to Ian I now know of a really awesome site where you can watch all kinds of TV Episodes right on the net for free... and South Park is one of them... so here you all are: All About Mormons- South ParkAnd the one for this episode is messed up but you should be able to view it at a different site here: Trapped in the Closet (the Scientology episode)- South Park

Oh and one more thing... Isaac Hayes who does the voice of Chef in South Park asked to be released from his contract and left the show shortly after the Scientology episode... He says because he doesn't agree with them belittling religions on the show, but he never had a problem with the rest of the episodes that are constantly bring religion up until this one. Why you ask? Because he himself is a Scientologist! To see an article about him leaving the show and what was said by various people involved check this out, and there is another link to watch the episode on this page as well just in case.

i am a little late on this one, but i thought i would throw in my 2 cents. the link to that website about how they can PROVE that the earth does not spin and that the sun and moon revolve around it is one of the dumbest things i have read. Having religion is fine, but when you call the bible ""infallable" that is reaching. When you take the bible as fact, and say you can prove your theories becuase the bible says so, thats not science. Scinentists can PROVE that the earth does spin and it does rotate around the sun. i hate when people try to win and argument by saying, well the bible says... you cannot prove anything in the bible acctually happened. they are stories, and its a book of faith. on that site they lable everything as FACT or PROOF but then all they do is quote the bible. thats your proof? well excuse me i just dont jump right on your bandwagon . they want evolution out of the schools and they want kids to learn the word of god. not going to happen, it does agianst the 1st ammendment. seperation of church and state. my tax dollars cannot go to the funding of religions teaching. you cannot take a PUPLIC school and make it teach religion, thats what private schoos are for. if you dont want your kids learning evolution, then send them to a religions private school.
