Strange..... I pierced my nose myself when I was a teenager, just took a piercing stud and jammed it through, but it only made my eyes water a bit and I was fine. I even had a friend who got mad at me and was violent punch me so hard it the face that my nose ring came flying out and it still didn't hurt.

Now why do I keep missing good chick fights? that must have been some mph punch coz it went flyin... gross, but cool.. sorry... Can't say I've got much piercing. Our IT specialist though has almost 3 times my salary and has (as she claims) 16 piercings, looks like Avril, gorgeous as hell... but never had a boyfriend... not bi either.. strange, she just loves.. herself... Anyway, I thought about getting a tat once.... just my job restricts me from doing so.. unless it was there before I got employed. I wanted an earing before but my wife says she's the only one that should glitter when we're together... so I resorted to just one bling... my wedding ring

That chick sounds very... interesting.
I just wish it cost less, because then I'd pierce myself to no end.

Obviously by my list above I have or have had many piercings in my time.... but I gotta admit that when you walk up to someone whose face is covered in metal it is totally distracting and quite often totally unattractive... even to the point of gross at times. I once knew someone who went so far as to put flat metal spears threw his chest ick!

I definitely agree. Although the trick there would be to not make them all on your face I guess. I think the only other one I would ever get on my face is a monroe because I think they're pretty cute.

I got my ears pierced/gauged, or whatever you want to call it, last night. Right now they're at 14g with oh crap I forgot the name of the ear ring but it looks like a horseshoe... This is the 10g version of it. When I find a camera I'll get a picture I guess.

I was laying down on my a friend's bed and got my left earring caught on a chord. I didn't realize it was caught until I tried to pick my head up, and ever since then my ear has been bleeding. That was approximately 5 hours ago. Thoughts, ideas, plans? Help

I don't have any suggestions on how to get it to stop bleeding especially since you need to regularly rotate and clean the ring an that could reopen the wound a bit each time.
However...
1. if you are using neosporin or anything on it stop.... the gooey texture can catch dirt, dry skin, etc.... particles of things that can cause infection in the open wound and on a piercing you can't put a band aid to help prevent that...
2. the clotting blood can cause crusty scabs around the wound and when you rotate it will just reopen the wound again so clean it with bactine or hydrogen peroxide often and rotate very well each time... hopefully you can keep the cleanings up faster than the scabs form
3. make sure you clean your hands VERY VERY well before each cleaning and DO NOT play with the ring between cleanings until the wound closes
That at least is what I would do but hopefully Deon will answer this soon cause he is our medical expert and he would know best...

Well since I am two days late it might be healed already to a certain degree Anyway, first, did the flesh get ripped? torn? If it did I would suggest you let the would heal first unless you want to appear with a bi-parted earlobe when it finally reconciles with the tissue. Plus you won't be able to wear an earring in the same spot. You can have spots now but.... err.... You have a choice to pull out the jewelry and let the entire portion of your lobe heal then just pierce it again. Are you a free/loose lobe or not? (what's the word) If the flesh did not get ripped I suggest you do the necessary precautions of disinfecting the wound (which I assume you already did). Betadine will be the most painless disinfectant you can use other than alcohol. You have choice to either maintain the jewelry so it wouldn't close up but it poses the danger of further infection since the accessory can catch other things. Keep the wound dry as much as possible because it's near sensitive areas and immediate infection access to your brain (i.e. the ear). I would suggest letting it heal completely and pull out the earring till it does. If your pierce hole seems a little bigger than usual, allow the tissue to "over-heal" so it can adjust to the size. It has the potential of closing up the hole, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Overall I would recommend letting it heal before doing anything else. Since I cannot personally view the severity of the wound, take all the necessary precautions for infection. And pat yourself for now having a valid excuse to pierce something else

I knew it yer into pain... whap whap.. nawdy boy....
Anyway, hope you're taking care of the wound. Leave it out, it may attract unwanted infectious attention.
