So I came across this nifty little test to do. It is one that will let you know if you are more left or right brain dominant. So if the girl spins counter-clockwise then you are left brain dominant, and if she spins clockwise then it is right brain dominance. Here is what will be roughly entailed by those results. LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic detail oriented facts rule words and language present and past math and science can comprehend knowing acknowledges order/pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical safe RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling "big picture" oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can "get it" (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous risk taking Now you might be saying, but AREA she seems to switch how she spins, to which I will reply you are insane, well no, not really. She can change direction by mear thought, or on recent actions you did. I do not have a list of like things to try, but I suppose that if you are stuck on her spinning clockwise you can go read some philosophy or do some math and see if she changes directions. I found that by just willing her to change direction works sometimes, and I even had it so I could make her change back and forth over and over again when her foot would be facing all the way to the left or right. For me personally I find she spins clockwise most of the time, although this morning when I got back in from work she was mainly going counter-clockwise. So go ahead any try it, not only is it fun, but it wastes lots of time when you are bored, especially if you are trying to learn to will her to change. I also take no responsibilities for insanity that results from prolonged staring.

I thought that at first, but no, it does not. I have had it sometimes go only one way for like 5 mintues, then other times it will go back and forth fairly fast. It is one of the illusion type images thoguh I think, so it tricks the brain, but it is not programed to switch at random, you can not do that with a gif since its like a movie with the individual frames, and if it was made to switch on its own then it would do it always at the same interval.

So far, I have only seen it move clockwise. I haven't seen it move any other way yet. I'll try again some other time.

That is so crazy!!! I was looking at it and even though I saw it going a certain direction it didn't seem like it was made in such a way that it COULD look like it was going the other direction at the time..... Very cool find!

I think it has to switch on its own. You know how if you are looking at one of those books that have those designs that make images pop out 3-D when you look at them the right way? You can turn that off. Everyone has their own way, I personally just close my eyes for a second and it's gone. You can't make her turn the other way with your eyes. If it were an optical illusion you would learn how to turn it on and off... like right in the middle of a counter-clockwise turn you should be able to get her going back towards a clockwise turn by using one of the methods you use to clear the 3-D image. It may be set on intervals and then loop after say 5 intervals or something. I can't be sure, but I watched it for a very long time (it's my first day off from work in like 2 weeks....). Just my opinion....
But why does she have to have nipples?

I still do not think she is made to switch automatically since I have had her go clockwise from the start and also counter-clockwise, although there does seem to be a clockwise trend, so maybe that is the normal rotation and counter is simply and illusion. Right now though if I go look at the image she is going counter, although I looked down and back up and she was back to clockwise. The image is also smaller though, which seems to affect me, such as before when it was a small preview on the image hosting site and I had her switching back and forth seemingly at will.
So with the 3d images it is an interesting idea of the similarlity, although like you said everybody has their own method for seeing those. For me I never thought of it as I was making anything switch though since I had to force the 3d image out, typically by just being at a normal distance from them then crossing my eyes and slowly uncrossing them.
As for the nipples she has them to be anatomically correct naturally, or to give men a point to focus on, your pick.

Okay I decided to find out the answer once and for all LOL. Cause it seemed to me too that I would be able to force the change if it was nothing but illusion that she changed direction. I couldn't force it but I DID see her change so I thought it had to be in the image that they really did change her direction. But we were wrong and AREA was right.... I saved the image and opened it up in an animation program... the image is in fact only 34 frames and it has her doing only a single spin in a clockwise direction and set to repeat over and over. So it IS illusion.

Weird, I guess it has to be an illusion... Hmm, gotta figure out a way to turn it on and off then, I might be here a couple hours

A couple of hours sounds fun. Like I said before though for me I seem to be able to make it switch when the image is smaller. Sometimes if I just have the image in my peripheral vision it is easier. When I got it some people said if they covered either the woman, or the shadow on the ground and focued on the still visible part they could get it to swtich easier.
I am glad wolfe opened the file though and found it is normally going clockwise. I was wondering why me, my room mate, and Griff who all seem to have more in common with the counter clockwise traits were seeing it go clockwise most of the time.

I think it has to do with what kind of mood you are in somewhat. This morning I came here to figure it out and it was counter-clockwise most of the time. Maybe after watching a movie or playing Sacred for a while it might be the other way. Possibly because you may (or may not) try to put yourself in the shoes of the character, making your right brain do more work during that time..... who knows just a theory

Thanks for checking that out Wolfe. Now I can tell my brother that he and I aren't the crazy ones for not being able to see it turn counter clockwise.

If you are having problems seeing it go the other way then try to do things that involve logic for a while and see if that helps. Maybe doing something simple like balancing the check book could do it.

I have gotten it turn the other way a few times now, mostly after doing some paperwork or something like you suggested Area.
