maybe there is a wave of new vamp players then siec anytime i play online I tend to be one of if not the only one, although I am in niob rooms only so it could be that most people give up on her before they make it there. I just notice a surplus of bm's and we's.

well i can't exactly say that i have noticed through personal experience (seeing as how i am forced to play nothing but SP...) but just based upon people not only on this forum but the official sacred forum and a couple others, that the vast majority of all who play this game play it as BM's... although i personally am the least attracted to them... nothing personal... just nearly impossible for me to survive with them...

I like the Seraphim because I like angelic superaliens who make their ship shoot stuff for them.

I would have to say that my fave is the Wood Elf. Most games of this style that I play I am always a thief or ranger type, using a bow, and so the Wood Elf gets points for that, as well as just being an elf. Plus, I think that her combo of Multiple Shot and Penetrating Arrowx3 is one of the most useful in the game. Especially when it comes to dragons. Just stand back and watch the damage grow!

I voted Dwarf but I also like Wood Elf. I prefer to stand there and shoot everyone instead of walking up to each character and hitting them with a weapon. Using the Dwarf(40+) and modern technology seem rather unfair to the other classes but he's still pretty cool. Using my Cannon, Flamethrower, Mortar and his Hard Hit. Or his machine gun with the attack move. Just wish the multi-hit did more damage. I got my Wood elf multi-hit to 40+ and a level of 90+ and I can take out most enemies pretty easy with it. Right now I'm equipped with most of Ocatanion's set to find cool items. But If I find that my damage isn't doing so well i'll switch over to polymides (all but boots so far) and If I don't do much damage, i'll at least steal enough so they won't damage me too bad. I tried to balance my combat arts with some spell skills but only the thorn bush does much damage and at higher levels you REALLY have to keep it updated. Doing 900 damage isn't that great when the monster has 10,000. I find her other spells useless and don't do enough damage to make a difference. The heal I never use with Polymides, and the Ancestors are too slow and weak as well as the Unicorn. Even current level spiders don't do that great damage. So my skills are Mulit-hit, explosive arrow (on strong enemies), and hard hit. I found recently that attack will take out mulitple targets in a line if its strong enough. I use Penetrating arrow on strong targets like dragons or some champions but I wish it would go through all targets till a timer went out. Multi-arrow i hear is decent, but having to reset the thing every 40 seconds or so gets annoying. Same with the Speed skill. I tried out the vampiress but I hated the fact that half of your skills are on a timer and if its daylight you take damage just to use 'em. Gladiator I have now is 30+ and he's pretty cool. If i don't feel like going up and using my attack move on a group I'll use my fist of the gods and take 'em all out in one hit. Using Andell's bracers helps to keep me alive. I just use my jump attack on the range guys or if I want to jump over a river as a shortcut. Battlemage is OK. I don't like most of the spells. I wish the fireball was faster or can take out enemies in an area. Dark elf is a supercheat with his battlefog. Use that on anyone and they won't even get a chance to hit you. The Daemon is pretty cool but I only use the flight and two spells the disc and the guardian. I like her phrases "Orcs you smell, you stink, and when I kill you, you don't even turn into dust!" The seraphim I originally played the game with and she's ok for a melee character but my dwarf and wood elf are supreme.

I LOVE the Wood Elf for a number of reasons. First, I have always loved bows and think I must have been an archer in a former life. To me there are an elegant weapon. I also love the types of spells that she casts...very nature oriented. Not to mention the Unicorn. I like having pets running around and fighting along with me. It makes traveling through Ancaria less lonely.

Well, I voted Daemon; though in all fairness, she's really the only character I've played much. I've spent the day experimenting with the others, and so far, I like the Seraphim more than any of the others (Daemon excluded, of course). Haven't tried the Vampiress yet, but I think I may like her, as well. Afterall, I was born on Hallowe'en; we're kindred spirits.

I just started playing Sacred again about a week ago. I found a couple of editors that renewed my interest so I started messing around with a few characters.
The one that I enjoyed the most so far was Dark Elf and poison Trap. He was a beast and had little trouble killing anything. I probably boosted him too much but I think he would have been just as awesome straight from the box.
I also enjoyed playing the Dwarf, but way overboosted him as well so stopped after a while. heh.
Now I just started a Seraphim. I gave her a ton of MF and only a small boost to CA. I won't be editing anybody else after this now that I have been able to take some high level characters and explore a bit to figure out the place.

I had a tough time choosing between the Elves. Finally I chose the Dark Elf as my first favourite, because he is both strong and elegant. My second choice is my Long-Handled Weapons Wood Elf (see my recently posted character guide). She is very elegant but a bit frail, which is why she finished just below the Dark Elf.
I also like the Vampiress and the Deamon.
I prefer melee fighters, maybe also because my computer is not fast enough to keep up very well with long-ranged actions.
